Nope it's a null modem cable. It's fairly cheap. You might need a USB to serial adapter. I can help you configure it for your computer and system when the time comes. The parts are pretty cheap.
Thanks John!
I bought a VPAP Adapt SV today!! It should get here on Saturday!
I don't think it has a ResLink module, I'll have to see about picking that up once it gets here. It is fairly new, pretty limited use, like 20 hours. They didn't know too much about it though.
I think I have a null modem cable. I was going to hack a NAS that I have to load another OS on t, maybe Winfows Home Server or FreeNas or similar. Never got around to it, I decided I liked the box just fine as it is once I could get remote, wireless login to it (the web interface was a little too basic.)
I will probably get a Bipap Auto SV from insurance after my test. Then I will have to decide if I should keep both. I may try to stall and wait for the new System One ASV if I am doing OK with the ResMed.
Excited! Maybe I can **finally** have a day with no headache? It's been years ...
Cheers - and thanks!
Michael
Michael,
The Vpap adapt SV as JohnB says, can be accessed quite well by a null modem cable & ResScan (any version from 3.7 on).
If you can locate a ResLink, they used to go for about $200 if you knew where to get one. Slinky & I have a source. But, he
did say that the ResLink was going out of production. Be aware that there is one version for the Vpap Adapt SV (and any S7
based Resmed such as the Vpap IIIs & S7 Spirit & Elite etc: ) AND a quite different version for the S8 based machines. BUT,
both of these Reslinks use a stock standard SM card (Smart Media) which can be read by any el cheapo ($10 from Amazon),
reader. DO NOT CONFUSE SM data card with the narrow S8 datacard & datacard reader. They are as alien from the SM
datacard as Sony Memstick is to an SD card.
The ResLink module DOES gather more data & save it on the SM card than the machine internal memory. So ResLink is a
useful addon to a Vpap Adapt SV. ResLink also allows for attachment of an overprice under whelming SpO2 module. But
these cost a lot extra & are no match for the modern low cost high performance all-in-one finger SpO2 probes. Just ask
Slinky what she thinks of hers
I know this is cliche territory but I am telling you, you will *love* your Vpap Adapt SV as long as you get your mask sorted
out. It is the best !. But mask leaks turn it into a sleep messing monster.
Good luck
