Good move, now did you mail a copy of your order to Resmed? Just emailing won't do much because whoever reads it will just delete it and laugh.
But, a postal mail of a copy of your order with a letter telling them you went with the competition because of their pricing policy, sent to the sales manager -- might get some attention.
100 letters like that would do much more
At present, "I don't have a dog in this fight", but does anyone know the names of the ResMed Sales Manager and the Marketing Manager?

I would send them each a factual, civil , explanation of why you bought a competitor's equipment. They probably might just file 'em. However, I used to work for a very famous Candy maker and was good friends with the VP of marketing. When he got 100 letters regarding a single topic he was on it like white on rice (his sensitivity level was closer to 1 letter). He had staff to deal with the letters, but he actually read every one eventually.

Good luck fellow "Pappers"

Well, a little research revealed that the CFO's name is Brett Sandercock. (http://www.resmed.com) I presume he's headquartered in the San Diego (main) location. If he starts getting this kind of letter, he'll be interested, too.

Just an observation... the most expensive equipment comes from companies that start with the letter "R" (you know the two I'm talking about)

Interestingly... these are the ONLY two that most of the DME's in my area are selling. Brands that cost less that I can get online- the DME's in my area say they can't carry them because it's not profitable enough.

This doesn't make sense to me. For the "normal" insured person, the DME has the insurance code which gives them a set XXX dollars. It doesn't matter to the insurance company if the xPAP cost the DME $1000 or $200. It would seem to me that the DMEs would make more money by trying to sell the cheap ones. I suspect that something is going on between the DME and the "R"s that we don't know about that causes them to provide only their products.

If the R's were to let online places give good deals, that would undermine the R's profitable business relationship with the brick-and-mortar DMEs. That is the business model the R's have chosen, so that relationship is more important to the R's than their relationship with you, the customer.
