Resmed S9 filter upgrade
Resmed S9 filter upgrade
Seems like the S9 ships with a single standard air filter.
Some people with allergies might like to know you can upgrade to Resmeds hypallergenic filter at a cost of $4.95 for two.

Yep--I did that... it seems funny that they don't even seem to sell the "standard" filters on cpap.com, only the hypoallergenic ones.

Re: Resmed S9 filter upgrade
On the M-Series Pro, you use both the gray foam filter and the white hypoallergenic filter together. The gray one holds in the white one.
If you use the hypoallergenic filter with the S9, are you supposed to use both filters together? I wonder because it doesn't look like there would be room.

It is the large particle filter on one side and the fine particle filter on the other, two filters in one.

So the large particle filter would be facing out, and the fine one facing into the machine?scbeaver wrote:It is the large particle filter on one side and the fine particle filter on the other, two filters in one.

Re: Resmed S9 filter upgrade
Hmmm I just ordered a 12 pack of the hypoallergenic filter thinking it would just be one filter I needed. I'll check when I get it, hoping I don't have to have two filters on the machine.
Re: Resmed S9 filter upgrade
I called ResMed yesterday as mine have been waiting delivery for 2 weeks (unfortunately the truck didn't come in until yesterday) so I should receive mine next week.DreamDiver wrote:If you use the hypoallergenic filter with the S9, are you supposed to use both filters together? I did ask ResMed whether you need both the hypoallergenic filter plus the standard filter and was told no, the hypoallergenic filter actually replaces (not supplements) the standard white filter in the machine already. So you only need the hypoallergenic filter if you want to purchase these. For me for a pack of 12 there was only £2 difference between the standard 12 pack and hypoallergenic 12 pack of filters, so I thought let's just pay the additional £2.
Thanks

Re: Resmed S9 filter upgrade
I bought a 2 pack when I got the S9 but hadn't used them.
Just took them out of the nightstand because I had been wondering about how to tell which side was which and this topic reminded me to check them out.
I can't tell one side from the other!!!
They look and feel the same to me.
How do you tell which side is which?

I have received mine now and it looks like there is no directional concern. There is no color coding, difference in material density or anything to indicate a intended direction.Arizona-Willie wrote:I bought a 2 pack when I got the S9 but hadn't used them.

Re: Resmed S9 filter upgrade
I scavenged a hepa filter for my old cpap and cut it down to fit the S9 filter holder. I do not believe you could put two filters in there. I still have plenty of filters for my old machine so I can get by for a long while.

In looking back I know my father had undiagnosed sleep apnea and he suffered greatly for it. I WILL NOT go through that. Using a cpap is easy compared to that.
