I've had my first CPAP for 9 days...the S9. I would appreciate any info on the software. The menu on the device does not give very useful info, and since I am often out of town/country for month at a time, I don't have any DME or Dr. tracking my data.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I received my s9 last week. Supplier said that resmed were not selling the software except to professionals. Anyone with similar response?

I believe that is the case. I took care of this by discussing the need to review data with my doctor and DME. I am a much lower maintenance patient when I can read my data on my own. After checking with my doctor, my DME supplied me with a copy of the ResScan software. And I've been true to my word. I provide compliance data - they don't need to have me bring in my unit (no cards to send).

So, that's one strategy that might work if you need a copy. It worked for me. And as a result my doctor and DME are both happy with the results. The doctor has me monitoring my numbers and knows that I know if something has gone amiss with the therapy. And my DME does not have to spend lots of time tracking down issues with my unit / mask / therapy. It's a win-win situation.

New to forum. I stumbled across this forum while looking for a new machine and I am just impressed with all of the knowledge, the willingness of people to share and the wealth of info out there. Wish I had found this site earlier. My previous AutoSet S? just broke a few weeks ago and recently recieved my new S9.

I would also like to know where I can get the software for the S9. If someone would be so kind as to PM me, it would be greatly appreciated.

I've been using a cpap going on 5 years now and found out through this forum that I am lacking in knowledge. I tracked my AI, HI, & AHI on the previous S?, but never paid too much attention to it until now. My AHI averaged 8, AI averaged 1, and HI - 7 and pressure 10.5.

On my S9 that I've used for a week I averaged AHI 2.5, AI 1.8, and CAI 1.4, and pressure 10.6. My S9 is set at 5 min. to 20 max. Don't know if I should be concerned about the CAI being high, if indeed that is high.

I was transfered to Europe recently and will be here for another couple of years and I would like to learn more about trying to bring some of the numbers down if possible. My doctor back in the states didn't know a whole lot about this subject so it was difficult for me to communicate with him. He relied on the sleep study center's recommedations to presrcibe me my machine and that was five years ago. My DME back home basically just sold machines and the therapist shared what ever he could with me as he was very reluctant to tell me how to get into his set up. Thank goodness I was able to download the Clinical Guide from this site. Don't know if I will be able to afford another sleep study when I get back home so hopefully I can control my apnea better with the help of this forum.

Thanks a heap in advance for any help I can get.

I just picked up my S9 today. I don't completely trust the results of my CPAP titration study, so I'd really like to be able to monitor my results with the software. Would someone please PM me with the info? Thanks!

Another newbie who would really appreciate a PM too please!

This forum is a lifesaver BTW - I knew nothing about XPAP therapy before coming here, and thanks to all the helpful information here I have successfully been able to speak intelligently with my DME about my needs, and ended up talking my way up from an S8 Escape to an S9. Thank you all so much!

Yet another newbie! My S9 arrives tomorrow from CPAP.com. Would love it if someone could PM me for the 3.10 software.

This forum has been a TREMENDOUS help as I have gone through the initial sleep study process. So much misleading info that I was getting, especially in terms of requiring a local DME. Thanks for everyones help!!!

Hi Paliana, the first thing I would suggest would be to double check the figures, AHI should = AI + HI + CAI and these look a little odd for the S9 as they don't add up (prob a typo) .

My previous S8 I was seeing my AHI as 4.5. Switching to the S9 my figures massively dropped for me to 0.5-0.7 and I have managed on an average night to reduce these lower.

Do you know what your titrated pressure was at from your sleep study? The suggested pressure you should be on? I'll make the presumption that as you were getting a pressure of 10.5cm on your previous machine that this might have been your titrated pressure. If your S9 is set at a 5cm min and 20cm max and your average pressure is 10.6cm then it's taking longer to ramp up the pressure to respond to any apneas, and I would be inclined to up the pressure to around 10cm or 10.5cm so it's more likely to keep any apneas at bay (providing you suffer from obstructive apneas). I'd be a little concerned at the Central Apneas (CAI) as you seem to have these and they can increase in some people when you up the pressure so if you do up the pressure, keep a close eye on the CAI's.

Anything below an AHI of 5 means you are getting good treatment. My AHI prior to CPAP 5 years ago was 141.2 and now it's <1, and you're well within this safe range of <5 which is great. Some of us like to keep the AHI's as low as possible, if you can get them below AHI=1 then you'll be doing really great.

You might also want to take a look at a number of questions and answers I've put together on increasing pressure to reduce AHI's which is available at http://www.osahelp.com

Thanks
Dave

Hello, I just acquired the Resmed S9 after a sleep trial determined I had obstructive sleep apnea. I'm interested in the data tracking capabilities of the machine, but the DME does not have or stock the software. Can anyone tell me where I might get it along with the clinical manual?
Regards,
