Homemade Hose Stand by Craig

If you put your copper parts in the oven on broil for a few minutes, the copper will change colors. Copper -> Pinkish -> Purple(ish) -> golden -> brownish.
If you do this be careful with the copper as it is hot... You will need to cool it in water quickly (watch out for steam burns).
See below for the original and the after version (heat treated on top and original on the bottom).

My version. Painted it red so I wouldn’t lose it.

Nice! I made a similar one that mounts on the wall next to my bed. Works great!

I just built a Copper stand out of scrap tubing, T's, caps and 90° elbows (3/4" stock). Total investment - $1.20. (Glad I didn't through it out!)

Amazing how some materials can be so much more expensive in eleven years.
Today, the tee would be as much as his entire assembly.
Using PVC or even 3D printing, one could get a nice metallic color with Rub n Buff.
Sometimes old threads NEED to be revived--as they are still relevant.

I may re-paint it at some point
