What questions for Resp. Therapist

Post by Slumbernaut » Sun Mar 07, 2010 5:06 pm

I've been on my new machine almost 3 weeks now and have my first meeting with the RT this week. I'm new at this and not sure what I need to ask or what to expect when looking at the data. Here's what I know...set up on auto, AHI started around 16+ the first night of use now down to 4.0. Avg. pressure was 12 and things seemed fine. Pressure jumped to 14+ for a few days and I had a lot more mask leaks and multiple wake-ups. I know there's much more info I need, just not sure what to ask....thanks for any advice.

A higher pressure could cause more leaks. Well, not necessarily more leaks but make small leaks you didn't really notice before very noticeable now. Your pressure requirements can change night to night and even throughout one night. How relaxed and how deep you sleep in one night can cause the pressure requirements to change. What you did during the day or ate can cause your pressure requirement to go up.

Ask them what ever you want to know or don't understand. Also ask them if they have an email address so you can email them if you have other questions.
