I was discussing Food Allergies with my dietician daughter. Allergies can often cause inflammation. It could be the root cause or factor in Sleep Apnea. I was thinking of us running a Pilot Study. An APAP machine user would be ideal for this:
Make note of pressure readings needed for 3 days before the test is started.
Avoid the most common food allergens: Corn, Eggs, Dairy, Shellfish (oysters, scallops, lobster) and wheat for 7 days and note if a lower pressure was needed. It usually takes 4 days for food-borne allergens to clear our system.
Next, add in one of the common allergens, just one each day, see if your readings go up.
Dairy is a known mucus producer. If you have problems with mucus, switch to Almond milk, coconut milk (not the canned but a Carton type for drinking) or Hazel nut milk. Try to avoid soymilk since its a phytoestrogen.
Any takers?
