As long as you HAVE your prescription (the physical document), screw the insurance provider and the hassles with the local DMEs.

Fortunately I still have my cpap which is getting me through the nights so I can survive until I complete the additional sleep study. Having just recently filed for bankruptcy I do not have the extra cash laying around to purchase my own equipment. My Dr is willing to write my prescription any way I ask so I *will* be getting the equipment I need. It will just take a little longer. My insurance coverage is good enough I won't be out of pocket an excessive amount of money.

My current plan is to have my Dr write the prescription for a ResMed S8 Autoset II, with Data card, H4i heated humidifier, Swift FX mask and necessary accessories. Anyone have any suggestions? I want to make my prescription as specific as possible. I don't want to give the DME any wiggle room on the equipment.

As I said I am learning a lot here.

In looking back I know my father had undiagnosed sleep apnea and he suffered greatly for it. I WILL NOT go through that. Using a cpap is easy compared to that.
