Yep - Born at North Shore Hospital - grew up in Flushing, lived for 18 months in Pt Jeff Station, then back to Bayside

I remember your frustration. Considering it takes the sleep lab and sleep doctor about 2 to 3 weeks to get a lab report out, I am going to do my best to get the mask name(s) and the pressure from my tech. My GP will write the script a script for me. For the most part I've already decided I will go through CPAP.com, assuming that I have the same positive experience as everyone else seems to, thus hopefully I will have an order in Tuesday 10/11/2005, which will hopefully give me about two weeks to get used to it before my road trip out to vegas.

cheers,
Tom

North Shore Manhasset? There are so many North Shores now. I had my three kids at Central General in Plainview, where I grew up from 6th grade on, but that's now North Shore Plainview.

As far as Flushing, my grandmother lived on Kissena Boulevard for many, many years, and my aunt on Franklin Avenue.

I am now in Lake Ronkonkoma, very close to one of my favorite places, Pt. Jeff (the Steamroom and The Frigate, that incredible candy store). We love to go into town in the summer and watch the ferries go in and out, walk around, get some seafood. We celebrated my son's graduation from college at the Country Club there this past June.

I have an old childhood friend from Plainview who lives in Bayside now with her husband and owns a holistic pet store in Manhattan.

Okay. Now that I've bored the you know what out of you...nice to see yet another NYer here. Ramblinman is from Long Island, as is NeurosurgeryNP/Jenn.

Hey, no matter what they want to CALL themselves, the others are STILL LIJ, Plainview, etc - Just like NYHQ is still "Booth"

My wife (Mary) grew up on the corner of Elm and 149th - I grew up in NORTH Flushing - 154 and 32nd

The time I lived in Pt Jeff Station was a low budget but fun time in my life - Mary and I were Newlyweds, she was going to grad school (SUNY Stonybrook) etc. Lived in the garden apartments on 347 and Old Town Rd

You are planning a trip??? Well I just recently got off a 2nd cruise ship with my cpap. I have a suggest ion that you carry with you trhe adapter plugs and extention cord to reach your bedside from any part of the rooms for your cpap. I took 3 prong male and female and other varieties about 3 in total . This enabled me to stay in comfort without needing to call houskeeping or the engineering staff staffs... no tipping that way and no explanations to anyone.

kg2v,

More in common. My son just graduated SUNY Stony Brook in June. Great university. Now he works at the Stony Brook University Hospital.

And I agree, N. Shore at Plainview with always be Central General to me, as will NY Hopt Queens will always be Booth Memorial. They're not allowed to change names like this!!! What has LIJ become? I wasn't aware that they, too, had a name change. My son who just graduated from SB had his adenoids out in 2nd grade at Schneiders Children's Hopt., part of LIJ.

No real name chaneg for LIJ - just that about 4-5 years ago, LIJ and North Shore merged, and the whole "system" of Hospitals are called "the LIJ, North Shore Hospital system" (I might have it backwards, but it's something like that anyway)
