Computer Crash-Encore Pro No Longer Working

Post by jrfoster » Sun Feb 21, 2010 8:48 am

After I had to reformat my computer it turns out when I tried to reinstall my Encore Pro software it cannot install because of some MSDE Installer problem related to some SQL 2004 SP4 or whatever!

I did install the Encore Viewer I had and it installed ok, but the only smart card I have is Encore Pro and when I tried to reinstall it the message was that it could not find any Encore Pro software in the system!

So, what smart card do I need to use with Encore Viewer? Can I reconfigure the smart card I have to work with Encore Viewer?

Also, my machine which is the Series M Pro does have a data read out on the lcd screen. How accurate is that? This morning it said AHI for last week was 0.9 and for the month was 1.4. I am satisfied with those results which were pretty close to what the Encore Pro software was saying.

I would like to use the Encore Viewer reports to see daily results but need to figure out the smart card issue. Thanks.

I'm not sure on this but I believe that the Encore Pro smart card works will either Encore Pro or Encore Viewer.

I have Encore Viewer and my smart card is an Encore Pro one. All works well.

If your smart card is not working with Encore Viewer, I don't know what the problem could be.

Did you load the smart card drivers separately? With Encore Viewer, you don't do that. The drivers for the smart card are loaded when the software is loaded. Don't know if that's the problem for you.

Maybe you need to format your smart card for it to work with Encore Pro.

The LCD screen on the M Series machines is not as accurate as using the software and, of course, you can't get the detail.

I'm just throwing out some ideas because I'm not very computer literate so at least I will bump your post.

Got some things figured out! I found the software reader dowload online and and installed the software for my particular reader. When I inserted my smart card I got a green light! The Encore Viewer worked just fine. The only issue is like with encore pro, the weekly average AHI is not simply the total of the 7 days divided by 7?

The worst AHI I had last week was 1.4, also had a 1.0, then all the others were from 0.4 to 0.7. The grand total AHI for the week according to Encore Viewer was 2.0! Go figure.
