Which CPAP machine is the best?
There are several different manufacturers of CPAP machines, each with different models. They all preform the same function; the major differences are in price, weight, and options. So which one is the best option?

There are differences between machines. The IntelliPAP autoadjust machine I use, for instance, has an algorithm I suspect is not aggressive enough for my SDB problem. But for many others, it is a fine machine. I am seriously looking at getting another machine, probably a Resmed, which has been demonstrated to respond more aggressively. It will be interesting to see what happens. (I would put Respironics in the middle between the IntelliPAP and the later model Resmed S8 machines.)

It really depends on your needs and wants. But - *sigh* - I am an unabashed Resmed fan. The fully data capable Resmeds EXCEL in ease of access to and amount of data available via the LCD screen. They are so easily assembled and disassembled when traveling. But even Resmed makes compliance data capable only CPAPs so you have to educate yourself as to which models are fully data capable.
And that is true of ALL the manufacturer's CPAPs.
Respironics has just recently come w/the new PR SystemOne CPAPs.
Scuttlebutt has it Resmed will be introducng a new S9 series this year.
DeVilbiss has come out w/a new line of CPAPs some of which are fully data capable.
Fisher & Paykel also recently came out w/some fully data capable CPAPs.
And Covidien (Puritan Bennett) has come out w/a new line of fully data capable CPAPs. Their earlier Puritan Bennett GoodKnight auto paps were highy regarded and the Sandman PSG software has long been a favorite amongst many sleep labs.

Respironics, recently acquired by Philips, is one of best known manufacturers in the industry.
