Well, at least I haven't been gone as long this time...
Just thought I'd drop by and let you know that barely after a year's use my REMstar M Series Auto CPAP with A-Flex has failed. Since my trusty REMstar Pro is still going strong after 6+ years, I'm not quite ready to condemn Respironics, but I am certainly disappointed. I'm too lazy to search through the thousand's of posts to see if any others have had a problem with this model, but if so, please speak up...and thanks.
All indications point to a blower motor failure, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed it can be promptly repaired, or replaced, as the case may be.
I'll let you know how it turns out after I return it to the DME tomorrow, and pick up a replacement. I really love my APAP, and don't want to have to use the CPAP while waiting for the repair.

Wow. That's a bummer. Had mine since October 2007, 27 months, still working fine. I SO love mine, as well. So much, that I have new replacement M Series Auto w/AFLEX ready when needed. Just wouldn't want to go one night without it.

Mystery solved...and it wasn't the blower motor.
My trusty and knowledgeable DME provider suspected at once what the problem was...the humidifier. Turn it off, and the blower worked just fine.
The key (duh!) was the fact that if the humidifier was turned on, the blue light on the dial flashed. Although it could have been a problem with the main unit, or the power converter, his first choice was to replace the humidifier, and, voila, no more flashing blue dial light, and everything else worked A-OK.
No money changed hands...it was all covered under warranty, and I left a happy camper.

That humidifier problem was the subject of an ongoing voluntary recall. You should of been notified of the problem prior to its demise.

Sorry for the delay in responding, but I've been "off the grid" for a few months.
Yes, I was aware of the recall, and called the number as requested. When I gave the operator the serial number of the humidifier, she advised me that it was NOT among those being recalled.

I've had an M series APAP with A-flex since June 2007 and no problems. I was unaware of this recall. Did Respironics or cpap.com notify anyone of the recall, or were we supposed to find out about it on our own? I'd better call and find out if mine is one of the affected units. Thanks, and glad your machine is working fine again.
