ResScan Leak data?

Post by jimlux » Sun Jan 31, 2010 10:09 am

I'm not sure how to read the Maximum/95thPercentile/Median data. For the month of January, the summary data is

12.00
6.00
0.00

Is that good?

I'm not noticing a lot of leakage during the night, but there are obvious spikes when I reach in to itch my nose or something.

Well, if I remember correctly ResMed reports in Liters per minute. Thus this would be 12l/m at the top end. That is WELL below the recommended maximum value of 35l/m. So, yes. when even the MAXIMUM number is well less than the recommended maximum, you are doing well. Of course, to help confirm that, the leak rate was 6l/m or less 95 percent of the time. And to further confirm this, the median data point - that is, if you sort ALL the values and report not the average (or mean), but literally the data point smack in the middle - is a zero. It seems to indicate most of the cases are well below 6.

Short answer: Yup. you are doing well.
