New To Forum

Post by rainee » Thu Sep 29, 2005 1:53 pm

Hi all. I'm new here, but not to c-pap use. I've been on mine for just over a year, though not 100% compliant. Dry mouth and throat gets to me sometimes.

I came looking for answers and sure have found good info.

I have the Resmed S7 lightweight and was absolutely shocked to find that though my local supplier charged over a $1000, just for the machine!!! I can find it for under $500 online. What a mark up! I also use the Ultra Mirage full face mask.

Now I'm looking for a humidifier. I see bad remarks about the one that fits on the machine. I did call and found out the one online listed for under $200, my local supplier is offering it for $500+.

I know this is long. Please forgive me. I just needed to vent. I've registered and I'll be back.

Hi, rainee and welcome! If you've been watching the posts here, you know that your experience with the DME is not unusual.

There are quite a few postings here on humidifiers, so you should be able to get some good info. As far as your post being long, don't worry about that at all. This is a great place to vent!

This therapy WORKS!!!

Hi Rainee.....Welcome!!!!!

I laughed when I saw your comment about your post being long.....I thought it was short and sweet. I'm afraid I can't help you out with which humidifier to buy...mine came with my machine (through my DME). I have the Remstart Pro2. I'm sure somebody here will be able to help you. Glad to have you with us!

rainee,

Long? You haven't seen long until you've seen one of my posts. I have a terrible tendency to turn a three-second thought into a year long sentence. And that word "sentence" is pretty accurate when you read some of my posts; you'll think you're serving one for manslaughter and this is your punishment.

In any event, welcome aboard. It was nice to make your acquaintance. I'm sure our paths are going to cross a lot now that you're on this site. This is a wonderful place filled with even more wonderful people who are the most supportive and caring folks in the world. Glad you joined us.

Sleepless, thanks. I've been reading some of your posts, and not once did I feel "sentenced". It'll be fun getting to know you through your long posts.

Heh, good morning all. I hope you got some good sleep. I won't talk about mine.

Barb, the graphics are so cute. I see you're from Washington. I'm just south of you, in paradise we call Oregon.

ok. I don't feel "new" anymore, so I'll close this thread and just go on my day feeling very WELCOMED. THanks again, guys. Nita

Nita,

Just remember that in about a month, when you get used to everything, you'll look back at this time with extreme horror and disgust...only kidding. You will realize just how far you've come in a few weeks and be thanking the powers that be that you got help. Once everything starts to fall into place and you feel it start to work, it opens up doors for you that you probably wouldn't have ever dreamed could be opened up again. Hang in there. You're going to do great.

I ntoo welcome you and I will answer your question. I use a Resmed s7 for travel and I have the humidifier that goes on it and I have had absolutley 0 problems with it except for losing the little crossover piece that goes in it. I don't know where you found it was not a good unit.
