Well I watched the show on January 20 where Doctor Oz talked about Sleep Apnea. I was glad he mentioned it and even showed a resmed machine.
However as usual there is very little depth. He seem to imply it was mostly weight related and brought up measuring neck size. As we all know that isnt always the case. So I am sure a lot of watchers will go "I am not overweight so that's not me.".
The other thing I was disappointed with is he seem to imply the only danger was lack of oxygen. He did not talk about collateral damage and subsequent Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Heart Failure, Gerd, and other issues that can be directly related to long term apnea events.
He also showed the dental device which we know is not always effective.
I wish he would spend more than one segment on topics. His truth thing is sort of a joke in the sense that a lot of times its not our fault, its how we are built and to simply quote some vital statistics which are downstream results and not necessarily the cause is destructive to educating the public.
Anybody else see it and what are your thoughts?

I didn't see his show yesterday, but I've noticed his shows are re-run in multiple time slots on subsequent days. I'll try to catch it.
On the other hand, if you have the inclination, write in to his show and express your thoughts.
I've noticed he's a little simplistic when discussing some subjects. (like "weight" or "overeating" is the CAUSE of everything.....not a RESULT)

i saw the show...and while i was thrilled Dr. Oz is bringing sleep apnea issues to millions of viewers....i, too, was disappointed he implied sleep apnea only happens to the obese. hey...baby steps. we'll get the word out eventually.
