R&R,

What size pillows are you using? I find the mediums are better than the larges, and I don't know why. If you are using the larges, try the mediums tonight or try them today to see if you can get a good seal with them. It was probably just a slight bend off. What I do before I turn off the light is, I put my hand cupped around the bottom of my nose to see if I feel any leakage. If so, I fadiddle a little more with the wire until there is no leak at all. It helps to move your head to the side and put your hand under the side you lean to as if you are leaning on a pillow to make sure it's in the right position, too.

I've not ever worn anything but a large in pillows but I will try mediums tonight just to see if this pans out. I hope as I do like it very much.

The mediums work surprisingly well. I forget who it was (maybe Wader) who told me to try them and they worked and I permanently switched from the larges to the mediums. Don't give up anyway yet. Sometimes you just have to play around with the wire and position of the top of the gear to get it just perfect and then it's wonderful.

Also, they do make the XL and I spoke with Claudia from customer service on this site and she said (last Thursday) that she would let the owner know so he could order them and they should be for sale by the middle of this week. So far, I haven't seen them yet. Maybe something to do with Rita. So have faith, R&R.

Well I may have to try an Aura for my next mask. That will be mask #4 for me. You know that might be a fun topic, we could take a poll to see how many masks we each have? Just a thought!

It may have been done already, but it sounds like a great idea for a poll.

I'll begin with, 5 since June of 2005. Oracle, Activa, Breeze, Swift and Aura. Guess which one I like the best? I know, no guesses necessary. I've plastered my opinion all over this site a hundred times or more (Aura).

OHHHHH--I forgot I was going to order a new interface this month just for fun. So I just got on and ordered the Aura. I like my Swift, we'll see what the Aura does for me. Thanks for reminding me.

Next month then I guess I'll have to get the Activa. The RT said I tried one on with her and it didn't fit me. BUT....she's an idiot....I was sitting upright with no chance to lay down.....and she's the one that says that she hasn't had success with the Swift with any of her patients. Well, my Swift is wonderful laying down...doesn't fit so well standing up. Maybe it is the same with the Activa?

R&R,

Do you mean you're upset and counting to 10 or 10 cms? I didn't follow you on that one. I wish you lots of luck and success tonight with the Aura. Did you try the mediums? I won't be back to hear the answer till the morning. My pillow is calling me...all the walking I'm doing lately makes me more ready for bed earlier.

Jan,

Another Aura coming our way? Please let us know as soon as you've gotten and tried it. Good luck. Hope you like it.

I got both the activa and the aura from cpap.com a week ago

The Activa is a no brainer best mask ever. The aura is a huge step in the right direction for mask/interfaces in general. It is very comfortable and seals pretty well. for some reason I invariably wake up with it partially out of my nose and give up in the middle of the night and go back to my new but trusty activa ( some one on this board described it as a friendly octopus) If anyone has any aura tricks of the trade I would love to hear them. I use the medium pillows and push them around until they seal.

Kenrose,

Until you figure out your Aura on how to get it to stay in place for you by adjustment, you can try the RG fix and put a soft piece of material (like the panythose leg) over the nosepiece and tie it at the base of the skull with RG's suggestion of a double knot (the kind you don't actually knot, just pull through twice). Keeps the pillows from moving all night. Works great if you need to do something like that.

Lori
thanks,
RG knows her stuff but I just posted a request for advice on FF mask as I looked at myself in the mirror and decided that between the tape, the chin straps, the mask and whatever else I was going to have some explaining to do beyond just mentioning that I suffer from sleep apnea when I get involved with some one new. I think I will memorize the hose prose and try and go to sleep. Maybe I will start a hose head singles forum?

Who was it that said that in concession to mouth taping, she had notified the local fire department that if she were to be found dead in be with her mouth taped, they should know it was an accident?

Memory like an elephant, I tell ya! Who said that, ozij? Had to have been Lori. I don't remember saying anything like that myself, so had to have been Lori. Or did I just say that?
