Swift LT nasal pillows indeed poor quality

Hello everyone!
I havent posted in about a month, finally happy with no issues and nothing to write about.
So I thought....
A while back (about 8 weeks ago) I purchased a Swift LT mask and I remember reading about how everyone was up in arms about the nasal pillow material
recently being changed for the worse. Well after a few weeks I must agree, the SWIFT LT nasal pillows are horrible quality and after about 2 weeks of use
start deforming to the point that it cuts off your air.

I think I'll try the Mirage Liberty mask next. I also saw a post where someone had taken pillows from a Breeze mask and retrofitted them to the swift nasal body.
Im also considering this option.

I'm HOPING that if anyone from ResMed ever visits here that they can get their act together and make a quality pillow again. I do have one of the older , thicker material pillows and its head and shoulders better than the new ones. Just go back to that, so it costs and extra .01 cent to make

Warning to any newbies.... Run, dont walk away from the Mirage SWIFT LT mask. It will work for about 6 weeks until the pillows deform and it starts suffercating you.

Take a look at this thread ... not tried it myself but the breeze pillows I know for fact are much sturdier quality.

Peppi, I did the same thing, and found that the Liberty fits me much better than the Hybrid.

But guess what.

The Liberty pillows are manufactured by the same folks that have been producing the garbage-pillows for the Swift LT.

And lo & behold, they manifest the very same problem.

I was about to purchase the Liberty on cpap auction in a few minutes!
But now I'll go to the Breeze pillow mod and keep my SWIFT LT II

I did have some issues with my mouth opening and so do many of my friends that I recommended the Swift to.
Sorry about that guys, I just didnt know this problem existed.

But I think once I get a pillow that wont callapse, my air will maintain and I wont open my mouth.

BTW, I recently had a grand-mal seizure in my sleep with all the fun of a midnight ambulance ride to the ER.
Guess what my neurologist thinks?

LACK OF OXYGEN FROM THE MASK CAUSED IT!!!!!
Now I'm on meds for seizures!!!

Hmmmmm, I have the Swift LT and haven't noticed a problem with the pillows. I usually sleep on my side or stomach (as much as I possible can.) I haven't noticed any air being cut off. My biggest complaint is I wake up with indentations on my cheeks and under my eyes are puffy.

What interesting timing for this post. I just started CPAP Friday night and use the Swift LT pillows. Mine are brand new but I kept thinking I wasn't getting enough air, had problems exhaling (pressure is only 6 so that shouldn't be a problem) and my AHI has been around 14 both nights. This morning I took mine off around 5 AM because I felt like I was really having to work at breathing and couldn't get back to sleep. I know I have to get used to wearing ANY mask but maybe I'm not just imagining some of these problems. I thought I'd give this mask a fair trial but have seriously considered trading for a different mask since I have 30 days to trade.

I'm kind of jumping in a bit late on this thread, so please pardon me if this has already been mentioned elsewhere--but has everyone been ResMed about this problem so they can (hopefully) correct it?

It describes a SERIOUS PROBLEM with your Swift LT Nasal pillows.
The material is breaking down pre-maturely (less than 2 months). Once the material breaks down the pillows cavitate creating oxygen deprevation.
This recently has caused me to have a Grand -Mal Seizure according to my Neurologist.
Your nazal pillows are a health hazard and need to be addressed.

Now do you think that would make cause for any companies legal department to look into the problem?
Lucky I didnt die, Res-Med would have gotten some pretty bad PR. Especially since the Grand-Mal Seizure lines right up with the report of a huge AI event on my Autoset II.

IMO, this is a very serious product liability issue warranting a product recall.

I urge everyone having this problem to use the link above and write to Res-Med before someone really does get hurt or worse.
