Until your hydrometer arrives try hanging some damp clothes/towels in your bedroom. If they dry quickly and seem rather stiff the air is super dry. It is best use items partially dried in the dryer to avoid water dripping. The drying clothes will add some humidity to the air plus save on costs of running the dryer. Living up north I do this up to 10 months a year with the bonus of having less clothing shrinkage.

I adjusted the the settings on the humidifier to 4.5 and it was quite good. No rainout, I will try five tonight and see what happens. I an new to this machine, especially ASV. I had before the bipap auto series M with the humidifier built in and anything above two or three you would have serious rainout. The current one I have is very different, in that rainout is non excistant, I have a hose cover that helps keep it at bay.

You could get an F & P 150 humidifier.

They work much much better than the built-in's that come with either the Respironics or Resmed machines.

I have my Resmed H3I feeding into my F & P 150 because it is so dry the 150 will run out of water on any setting higher than 2.

Working pretty well.

Last night was fairly good, I had to adjust the humidifier down a notch. I had set to four because my nose became stuffy during the night. I made the adjustment and it was great. I imagine when we are attached to this machine we must literally have to be in control of what make us comfortable. We as cpap users must be aware that we are our best doctors, up to a certain level. I say this because there are some out there that always have unnecessary comments that are not constructive. I love this forum, I have gained much knowledge about how to take control of my therapy. The sleep Dr. can only do so much, we must be empowered with knowledge to fine tune our therapy so we feel comfortable and want to use our machines. This is the only way to make it work. Look at it as a friend and embrace it, not as a enemy that we despise and avoid it.

Thank you
