Well, the day may come when I post that I caught a dread disease from my humidifier water, but so far, no problem. Not even a cold in the past year.

I use distilled water, just adding more to get it up near the fill line each night. I don't dump it out every day. I dump it about once a month. I don't even soak the chamber with anything then....I just swish a little more distilled water around in it, dump that out, then start all over...adding as needed. The reservoir is still crystal clear and I'm still doing fine.

Absolutely Derek, distilled water has the potential to have more little nasties in it than tap water.
BP, unless the company distilling the water is using the sewer as its water source, I don't think distilled would have any more nasties in it than non-distilled tap water. I suspect that distilled water is simply tap water (aka 'treated water') that is then processed through a steam distillation process. Distilling is unlikely to be adding bugs. This is not to suggest, however, that distilled water is sterile. Neither distilled, nor tap water is sterile.

I think WAFlowers has it right. Put just enough distilled in to get you through the night, dump the leftover in the morning and let the humidifier tank air dry during the day.

And I really hope that it stays this way for you. I guess the old 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' line really applies.

The queen of England once said this and the press, to my great amusement, referred to her as having "the constitution of a yak." While I'd never liken our very own Rested Gal to a yak, I found the comment in the press to be very funny and was reminded of it by Rested Gal's comment.

LOL, WillSucceed! We're not as sophisticated around these here parts. I'd be referred to more like this... "healthy as a horse."

It is probably not done to refer to Her Royal Highness as a horse. Therefor "yak"...

Ozij, I'm sure you are right. In fact, the press rarely bashes the queen directly although those around her are considered to be part of 'open season.' When they want to bash the queen, they refer to her as "Brenda."

As in 'Brenda needs to drop a few stone' or, 'Brenda needs a new hat, the one she wore at Ascot was a bit tatty...'

Hmm...
I think we could give you an HRH also, one fitting for our parts.

How about "Her Rested Helpfulness"?
