Boy.....do I have stories about keyboards........

I washed my hands frequently during the days at work and also at the end of the day. Ever shake out a keyboard of someone who ate their lunch and other snacks at their desk? UGH!

NOW, the "Keyboard" is something to wash out. That canned air just blows the nasties EVERYwhere, yuck. NO canned air for Gumby Damit.

If you are gonna do that use a vacuum, please.

DreamStalker, are you suggesting my computer keyboard I've had for 12 days is already contaminated with GERMS!!!!! Are you suggesting I can get GERMS from the internet via computer keyboard!!!!! Did you not read the part of my post where I like the idea of using the hose for a frozen grape dispenser..............Shhhhh, please don't tell me I have to adhere to the 2 second rule for food drops...and I know you don't believe the kitties noses I kiss just before masking up are a potential risk......other than the possibility they, immune compromised, will contract H1N1 from me!!!! I'll put my new laptop on the step to freeze clean overnight..!!!! but the kats are staying inside!!!!

In one extreme instance, I DID try to wash out a keyboard.......only to ruin the keyboard (it may have been "toast" anyway). But, I found that I usually had to shake them out before I took the canned air to them.

When I was desperately trying to revive my dying computer, hoping it was only a dustbunny problem, I blew canned air in all the vent's/openings in the back and sides.............dust came up from the quarter sized speakers above the keyboard spewing dustbunny guts on the screen...........I would have preferred lots of dustbunny remnants over the cost of a new computer and losing my data

Shake it out? ... and canned air?

You mean we are not supposed to throw in a front-loader laundry machine and then toss in the dryer with delicate setting?

When I worked at a wealthy prestigious health care institution, I was given a very used, imprinted, stained, disgusting wrist support for my computer nearly barfing at the presentation. The giver of the goods left. She returned with a wet nasty, disgusting wrist support. I scooted my trash can in her direction and suggested she allow it to air dry there.........as a welcomed new employee, I purchased my own supports and a couple years later, this prestigious health care institution fully paid for my carpal tunnel surgery and full short term disability pay for the month I had to be on FMLA for each hand!!!!

I think that gross, disgusting, imprinted, overused and wet nasty "support" would have found you, Den, disgusted as well!!!!

Use a VACUUM if you don't want to scare the bunnies into your wet hose.

vacuum, Vacuum, VACUUM.

Gumby - who has taken his keyboard into the bathtub (prob more than the hose). The secret is to wait until it IS COMPLETELY DRY!!! BEFORE USING - period

Actually, the "Crocodile Dundee" technique works extremely well. After using your 'pap to blow air through it for a while (turn off the auto shut off feature, if you have it engaged). Then, if you've seen the movie, you know exactly what to do. If you haven't seen the movie, go outside ( so as to give yourself room) and hold the hose in your dominant hand. Start swinging it in the air in a circular motion, and it will begin to make noise, as in the movie. That will force excess water out of the hose. Make sure to avoid hitting yourself in the head, as that is possible with a 6' hose. This technique works well.

I would never put anything inside my hose (or humidifier) to dry it. Those little fibers left after you've dried...

Keyboards.... ewwwww..... and mice too. I remember reading there was a study that showed how bad they were....

I wash the hose in the morning, use it at night even though it's not completely dry. No problems for 5 years.
