when you get a cold

I got a head cold right now and all I can say is thank God for NyQuil. I sink a cup load of that stuff an hour before I go to bed and turn my humidifier on to 3/4 full power. I slept 10 hours straight last night and hopefully will do the same thing tonight. I got a H1n1 flu shot last Wednesday and I'm wondering if it made me sick or if it's just a coincidence.

I only use the neti pot when i get a cold, but boy does it help, and if your all stuffed up do the double strength solution is what works for me. When my sinuses wont stop running. Which is a MAJOR problem for me, its nyquil time and it is the ONLY OTC that works for me. Much to my dismay since its not recommended to use when your a diabetic with high blood pressure.. =/

I got my allergies under control a few years ago with daily meds and nose spray, but i also have a deviated septum so its SUPER important that I can get my nose clear to sleep since I can barely move enough air through it anyhow. Don't have a FF mask. I have been on cpap so long now (15 years) I don't think I can sleep and breathe through my mouth.

But I find that turning up my humidifier doesn't help. Using the machine does though. Often the air alone will open up partially open sinuses on its own without the need for any medications.

Google cytokine storm that's what likely happened. I no longer get vaccinations if I can avoid them as I've gotten pretty durned sick following each.

I'm glad that cytokine storm finally passed me by. I was so sick over new years it was hard to enjoy my cousins wedding on new years eve and my birthday on the 1st. Oh well, at least my Huskers won the Holiday bowl.

I call children plague incubators. I am not a teacher but do have an 8 year old. I do not get hit as bad as you do but I do get more colds than the before kid days.

I use a full face mask and have not had any night where I couldn't use cpap. I did start many nights where I couldn't breathe at all through my nose and after a few minutes was able to breath through my nose for the rest of the night. The cpap seems to be able to blow a path through.

I will use pseudofed and I always use my neilmed squeeze bottle twice a day when I feel good. More when under the influence of a cold.
