Howdy All,

To the best of my knowledge, Respironics has no plans to release a CPAP user version of their software. We've heard this from multiple levels within their company as recently as last Friday. Their doctor/sleep lab version will work with your machines if you can get it.

Thats really the key to this whole thing isnt it? They wont sell it to us, so is it bad to obtain it some other way? We would purchase it if they would just sell it...

So how are we supposed to obtain the software? Seems like we will just need some helpful person to help us out with that.

I don't like using bootlegged software. But there is a very easy solution. I will never own another Respironics machine and as of this minute, I will never recommend their machines to anyone.

I have to agree. After a similar discussion, I made a note to make a DeVilbiss my next machine.

Cheers,
B.

I certainly don't agree with how Respironics has handled their position on us Users and software and will not likely buy a machine w/o available software either. With all the chatter of pirated software, etc. it reminded me of a former member here who - may he RIP - left us the post quoted below.

For those who remember his signature line - "someday science will catch up to what I'm saying..." - it seems we still have much to learn.
Snoredog wrote:Last time the yoyo's here did a stupid email campaign like that to that turd colored box making company they pulled the software completely from the market, then you had nothing. I think you only got Encore Viewer from Johnny going to bat for us the Patients.

Do you think they actually CARE if you loose a day or two from your reports? Absolutely NOT.

You are NOT their customers, doctors and DME's are. That's why they won't talk to you on the phone.

When they ask their customers if they have problems of losing data what do you think they say? um NOPE and the deaf company with the turd colored boxes reply: well we got 10 emails from some yoyos who say we are losing data... what do you think them Brick and Mortar DME's and Doctors say when they learn the complaint is coming from patients?

you guessed it,

They will say well them Patients shouldn't have the software at all. So what do they do? They pull the software again from market just like they did the last time.

You guys haven't learned a thing.

Nice to see the late puppy quoted. One of many times when he got it just right.

I was trying to get it out to you folks before Christmas, but I am having some technical difficulties. I'm hoping to have it out by Jan 1.

Oh johnnygoodman I certainly hope you are wrong. If you are not then that means the PR people at Respironics is blowing smoke up our @!&*$$. The waiting game begins but now there are mixed messages. Does anyone know the cost of the 2.1 if you could purchase it and if it was in a script would a DME be obligated to sell it. I know we will wait on a new machine for my wife.

I think my DME is not getting very deep into the reports, I have asked her specific questions and the right answer has yet to come back. She seems to be hung up on averages and I wonder if she is looking at details.

Santa! you need to allocate MORE elves to the Patent Encore viewer 2.1 software.

I live in Alaska and know where you live... I'm going to tell Mrs Clause that you have been naughty and aren't being timely enough with the software. All the Hosers out there are sad now because they don't have the ability to check their data. I'll bring you an extra big plate of cookies this year if you deliver the software this year...

If it will help anyone, I could post the PDF of my PR System One (pro model, not auto) report so you can see what kind of data it was reporting... Just let me know. I would just need to find a way to host the file..

Ho Ho Ho blakepro, how close do you live to my "house"? If your close enough maybe you could stop by and one of my elves could "loan" you a copy. I know my reindeer would appreciate 1 less stop.

Oh and believe me Mrs. Claus knows how naughty I've been this year if you get my drift. Ho Ho Ho

Merry Christmas!!!!

Oh Santa, what hairy arms you have!!

Would it be possible for all the newbies just starting with the PR within the last 30days to exchange them for Resmed or DeVilbiss as a protest? What would be involved, would they need to explain and get a new RX from their Dr? Would the DMEs go along with it? Respironics is really doing a disservice to the unsuspecting patient, how could they take this technology away when patients already have the software for the older models they manufactured? Can a petition be started? I know from experience that having software is ESSENTIAL to successful therapy!
