Re: Not sure I trust these numbers
The card will hold several days of information-----5-7 days I believe. I'm still downloading everyday out of curiousity, so I'm not sure. You can make notes right within the software screens to document whatever you wish----------changing masks, pressures, how you feel etc. That information can be stored right along with the actual results from every night.

Re: Not sure I trust these numbers
Hi SAG. Now remember a number is just a number. Its important how you feel. Your AHI was 3.4. Some people are satisfied below 5. Not yours truly. We had similar titrations - that is mine was screwed up too. Apparantly I couldn't tolerate 7 cm of pressure at my titration so essentially I went untitrated.
Anyway, lots of good advice here so far. Yes for autoset your range is too wide for optimal treatment. Its ok to have it wide open to give you some indication of the pressures you should be at, but not good to keep them there. First of all, you'll really need to get the software (and card reader) for your Autoset II, to really understand what's going on, as a number by itself doesn't tell us much.
As far as a range, I think Den is right on. Since you're using EPR, I assume you've experimented and found it useful. Den suggested you start at 10 wirh EPR of 2. I'd also bring the max down a bit, to maybe 17.
I made the transition from APAP to CPAP as a trial, and got lucky. But that was me. For you, I'd work on cutting down the range a bit. As Rested Gal and others reminded me, on a ResMed machine, its the AI you really want to get down if you can, as HI's can be harder to get down on this machine and can go as overreported. (I'm not the expert here - I'll defer to others.) Most folks like to get theirs down to 1.0. ( My doc was telling me I should be satisfied. But I wasn't and worked and worked, and now I average 0.5 AI or lower. ).
So with the 3.4, I'm not sure what your breakdown is. Also, you report 0.0 leakage. Can't do better, but I'll ask you if you can check your mask setting on your machine to make sure its set correctly (just to be sure you're getting the right reading as the machine makes different corrections for different types of masks.).
Anyway, after cutting down on the range, let us know how you're doing. Patience is a virtue. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise... This tweaking is hard work. But we CPAPPers are a tough bunch.

Re: Not sure I trust these numbers
I think you need to close your pressure range also. After spending 10 days on 7-15 had the Titration test, 11 stopped snoring and highest pressure achieved was 12 for only 39 min. This was ball park what the auto indicated for a pressure so was recommended for 11-14 but I opted for 9-14 for a day or two to see if I could tolerate so will be changing to 11-14, AHI avg at 2-3 range. Will see if closing the range down will lower the AHI even further. Not sure about a fixed pressure down the road as I am subject to call-outs at night and sometimes extended hours and My wife always said when I was really tired my sleep was worse. Also need a range to compensate if I have a couple of drinks.

OOXX,
My suggestion is that you do nothing for at least a week and get enough of a sample for a reasonably accurate baseline. If you're still not feeling better, follow Den's suggestions but make one small change at a time and wait several days before trying another adjustment.

It's my understanding that she's been using these settings for several weeks and feeling worse. Better to make some changes sooner than later. But, give THOSE changes a few days/nights to see what happens.Raj wrote:OOXX,

Remember.........one change at a time. When I make a change, I actually do not see the numbers consistently respond until 7-10 days afterwards. I generally wait aobut two weeks at a time. That's really hard, but it is best.......

Happy one week to you, secret agent girl!secret agent girl wrote:Oh! To be clear, today is my 1 week anniversary. (Happy Anniversary to me!)
I've been feeling so relieved that wearing the contraption wasn't as hellish as I was a-feared it would be, that' I've hardly noticed the "other" side of the equation.
Good to hear that xPAP hasn't been as difficult as you feared. It can take time to get everything just right, but you're definitely on the right track!

Re: Not sure I trust these numbers
Your numbers look great. I'd leave things exactly as they are. Remember, it takes a few days to get a trend. Not everyone has the "nirvana" feeling; for most, it is a gradual improvement over a long period of time, as sleep deprivation isn't easy to make up immediately.
Re: Not sure I trust these numbers
Definitely make one change at a time for at least a week. Good ideas all around here. You have a great headstart considering your leaks are 0.00.

I initially worried that secret agent girl might crack under the intense pressure of the torture device known as CPAP. Many agents have revealed their secrets under the stress of this torture device. But it appears secret agent girl will survive!tattooyu wrote:... Does anyone else get the feeling that secret agent girl is going to become one of the regular veterans on here? I do! ...
