How much we post

Post by WAFlowers » Fri Sep 23, 2005 9:22 am

I started thinking about how much time I spend on here (too much!) and how much we have to say (ditto), so I looked at my profile, then at others for comparison. Here's some numbers (from yesterday afternoon):

percent of msgs per
name all posted day
--------------------- ------------ ------------
Sleepless on LI 3.82 13.37
wading thru the muck 4.78 5.68
dsm 1.07 4.60
rock and roll 2.00 2.48
snork1 0.72 1.97
ozij 1.77 3.79
WAFlowers 1.21 8.54 <--- me
WillSucceed 1.11 1.40
rested gal 5.63 5.99
chrisp 2.36 3.01
gailzec 1.12 1.78
yawn 0.80 5.21
neversleeps 1.37 3.54

Obviously these are in no particular order. I tried to included everyone I could think of that I see posting here on a regular basis. Don't feel special because I included you and don't feel snubbed if I didn't.

The above list constitues 27.76 of all messages ever posted here!

Interesting to note that if I maintain my current pace I'll eventually exceed even rested gal and wading's impressive percentages but that I'll never catch up with Sleepless!

Bah! The software compressed all my carefully inserted spaces so the table is unreadable. Does anyone know how to fix that?

Nope.
Post it as picture of a table.
Or try      will it work - it did - that magical space character you get from ALT+Numlock+ 255

Bill,

If you put a character of some sort, it won't compress the info.
Is this sorta what you had in mind?
By the way, mine is:
[0.35% of total / 1.83 posts per day]

I'm not sure what your point is......
Some people have more time to devote to this forum than others?

Hi Bill...interesting thread....and you guys always have such good information to share that it is a pleasure to read your posts! Not to mention wonderful senses of humor!

It always feels sort of like "coming home" when I come to "CPAP.com CPAPtalk"

Part of that is that many of the posts are from the same folks....

Regards,

Nan

Thanks, and I'm sure ozij's suggestion would have worked too. What a pain to have to do it like this!

You got it almost right, but the column titles aren't quite as I intended. Try this:

I don't really have a point, except maybe that I seem to have a lot to say compared to most.

sleep gal (the antithesis of rested gal), my mind just naturally wants to play with numbers. I see mathematical relationships in everything! So I started wondering about how much I post, and how it lines up with others, and if I trend it out ...

I can't help it. It's a curse!

That's it. I'm taking a vacation from this site. I write FAR TOO MANY posts (duh) and it's getting a bit humiliating. I just can't help myself. I go on to check what's new and then I end up having to voice my big mouth opinions. I have trouble keeping my mouth shut. I have to say, though, I am no longer mouth breathing. So it looks like I'm back to how I used to be, only keeping my mouth open when I'm concious ALL THE TIME. Sorry, but I love people and I love to talk. My sister was always amazed at how people would tell me their life stories when standing on a line in the supermarket or when I go anywhere. I think I have one of those non-intimidating personalities and I've grown used to just talking to everyone I meet.

So I will have to avoid this site for a week or two just so you people can get a rest from me and my big mouth!!!

WHAT??!! Don't even THINK of taking a break!!! WAAAAAAIT!!! You are too much of an inspiration to leave for any length of time, do you hear me? My hubby says that too "she keeps her mouth open in the day time too" He just laughs when I told him the reason I have to have a full face mask, and before, the chin strap "can't keep your mouth closed, even at night!" Oh..he had a blast with that one LOL Please...don't go away

Lori, don't you dare! I'd feel like this thread I started chased you away, and then imagine how that would make me feel. Why, I might even end up so depressed that I don't use my CPAP at night. Do you really want that on your conscience? .

Ah geez Bill, ......and I thought I was special.

You know, I looked at your chart and just kept scratching my head. I didn't get it but I wasn't about to admit it. Then I read further down and saw that I wasn't the only one. I'm glad you got the chart worked out...the numbers are definitely interesting.

Lori...don't you dare disappear on us. I love reading your posts. Besides, you would go crazy if you didn't have us to talk to. Stay with us Lori...ppppllllllleeeeeaaaassseee.....

AWWWWWW, THANKS!!!!

I have to say, I was touched by what you all said. And, Bill, far be it from moi to be the cause of your stopping CPAP therapy. So I guess I'll just keep shoving those old opinions of mine, although most times unasked for but received, right on in there. Love you, guys .
