I am evacuating

Post by rock and roll » Fri Sep 23, 2005 2:21 am

I am leaving at 3:30 AM and am heading north to Dallas and then where they will let us. Decided to weigh with caution. Later.

Good Luck! Hope you find a clear path to travel and are able to return home soon.

R&R,

Hope you made it past the accident

http://www.cnn.com
A bus carrying as many as 45 elderly Hurricane Rita evacuees from Houston exploded south of Dallas this morning, killing as many as 20 people, according to Dallas County Sheriff's Sgt. Don Peritz.
Watching the news this morning was pretty scary, the backup on HWY45 (from Houston) was over 15 miles long. It was believed that up to 15 soles could not make it off the bus.

regards,
Tom (in Allen, TX)

R&R,

Ditto from me. Nothing left to say that wasn't already expressed. Please post us when you're able to come home. In the meanwhile, my prayers are with you.

R&R, our thoughts and prayers are with you all the way. May y'all be safe and dry and arrive soon at your destination. I know you have more important things to occupy your time right now, but keep us posted when you can. Any more of you folks who are in harms way, Be Safe! And even tho we may not know all your names, we are praying for you too.

HI and thanks for all the notes and best wishes. I am in Shawnee OK and made it here fine after a long and harrowing drive. It was very surreal, many hundreds of thousands broke down and out of gas on the side of the road. People sleeping in the emergency lanes. But no anarchy. Will be a great topic in the future. I dread the trip back when they let us. Have not heard if my house is holding up or not.

R&R,

Relieved to hear from you and that you are well and made it to safe grounds. Now just make it back as safely and all our wishes will have been answered. Let us know when you get home. Good luck.
