Solving airleak problems on ff mask?

Post by Dale92 » Wed Sep 21, 2005 6:40 pm

This will hopefully be of benefit to some who have problems getting their ff mask to keep a seal near the mouth. I am using the Ultra Mirage and the Swift to alternate with. This is for the Ultra Mirage obviously What I have done is I am using my chin strap that I use with my Swift to keep my mouth closed but with a slight adjustment. I pull the chin strap up over the bottom edge of my mask to increase the pull down on the mask thus ensuring a tighter seal where I have the most problems. I have also added about 2 inches of velcro to the top straps of the chin strap to enable me to cover the lower edge of the Mirage and still be able to connect the velcro ends. It works for me and maybe it might benefit someone else.

Oh, this is for the guys out there. I also noticed that if I leave about a day or two growth of whiskers it helps keep the mask from moving around and losing it's seal. Just my observation for what it's worth.

Even though I have been on this forum for just a few days I want to thank you all for being such a good source of help for all us newbies who would be lost without your guidance.
