Changing time on Elite II??
Changing time on Elite II??
Does anyone know how to change the time without erasing data? With daylight savings time in place, the time is incorrect now. I can change it, but it prompts me to erase the data and when I say no, it loses the change.

Well, I took me a woman late last night
I's three-fourths drunk she looked all right
'Til she started peelin' off her onion gook
She took off her wig, said, "How do I look" ?
I's high flyin', bare naked ...Out the window.

Re: Changing time on Elite II??
Thanks SleepyT. I actually meant changing the time on my CPAP machine, but I am not always known for exactness when I am tired, so I may have just thought it. The time on the forum posts have never been correct for me, but I actually will try to change it now that you pointed me toward fixing it.
I tried that and it just didn't work. Was I supposed to be awake when staring at it? Good thing I am not a Hatrock Mr. Flintstone.packitin wrote: Just look at the clock for a hour, and then the time will be set correctly.

Hi Rebecca,
You will see the Erase Data? option as you navigate the menus, but you will arrow down past that (therefore not selecting it), so it won't erase anything. To change the time on the S8 Elite II:
• Get into the CLINICAL MENU by pressing the Right and Down arrows simultaneously and holding down for about 3-5 seconds. It'll then say "Clinical Menu--Welcome" and you can release the buttons.
• Press Left button to select MENU
• Press the Down arrow until you get to OPTIONS
• Press Left button to select ENTER
• Press the Down arrow until you get to TIME
• Press Left button to select CHANGE
• Press the Up or Down arrow to change the HOUR (24-hour clock)
• Press Left button to select OK
• Press the Up or Down arrow to change the MINUTES
• Press Left button to select OK
• Press Right button 3 times to get out of CLINICAL MENU
That should do it!

Thanks. It worked.DreamOn wrote: .............

I had managed to change it several times, but after I selected ok it prompted me to erase data. I must have skipped a step or something. Maybe I tried to change it without selecting change.
My brain is still foggy and I don't always figure things out the first three or four tries. I forgot to tell Packitin that my Avatar actually reflects a good day of sleep deprivation.
The clock is correct now. I suppose it isn't programmed to automatically change for daylight savings time.

Glad it worked! No, unfortunately, the machine's internal clock doesn't change automatically for daylight savings time.Rebecca R wrote:Thanks. It worked.DreamOn wrote: .............

I know what you mean about the foggy brain. Hopefully, that'll clear up in time for you! Are you checking your AHI, AI, HI and leaks via the LCD screen? Maybe your therapy isn't as effective as it could be.
If that's a picture of you on a good day, I can only imagine what a fright you must be on a bad day! I have felt like that some days!

Re: Changing time on Elite II??
I just got my card reader yesterday. I seem to be having some mountainous leaks that didn't rear their ugly heads with the data available on the LCD screen.DreamOn wrote:

Seriously though, before the Cpap mask straps held my hair down, my tossing and turning could be gauged by the state of my hair in the morning. It usually looked like it had been seriously backcombed and stuck straight up! My daughter always said "nice hair mom!" when I was making coffee.

Re: Changing time on Elite II??
Are the leaks accompanied by pressure drops? If so, that would likely be a bathroom break, as it'll show a leak spike when you remove the mask (even if you turn the machine off before removal, as it keeps blowing lightly). If there's no pressure drop, it may be mouth-breathing that you're not aware of. I discovered that problem after a while and solved it with a PAPCap chin strap. One of the clues was dry mouth in the morning. Apparently, I was sleeping through most of the mouth leaks (during REM I suppose). If it's not one of those two possibilities, then it must be your mask leaking.Rebecca R wrote:I just got my card reader yesterday. Re: Changing time on Elite II??
No bathroom breaks. I tried taping my mouth shut before and it was still there in the morning, but I am going to try it again tonight. I toss and turn a lot due to PLMD and spontaneous awakenings, and have also woken up many times with a leak that I couldn't fix in my state of sleepiness. I also have a Mirage Quattro and used it a couple of times with similar leaks reported--on the LCD. I will try it again if I have to but the contact with my face is very, very irritating and keeps me awake. Unfortunately the data reported on the LCD was usually within acceptable leak rates...I plan to get to the bottom of it now that I finally have the card reader. Getting it shipped to Canada is like an underground railroad...DreamOn wrote: If there's no pressure drop, it may be mouth-breathing that you're not aware of. CPAP is not pretty At least we're not alone in our misery....My husband just looks at me and laughs some mornings now. No words are necessary, as I know exactly what he's thinking. Hair flat as a pancake, and if I accidentally tightened my mask too much, very attractive mask marks and puffy eyes--it's not a pretty sight!
Re: Changing time on Elite II??
At least you have another troubleshooting tool now with the software.
Yes, misery loves company. This forum is so wonderful!Rebecca R wrote:At least we're not alone in our misery....
