Finally got my ASV

Post by qjosea » Tue Dec 08, 2009 5:42 pm

Hello fellow hosers, I finally got my ASV, last night was my first night. I wish I can say it was great, but I don't know how it happened when I woke up the mask was not on my face. Somehow it came off during the night, I did some investigating and the best conclusion I can come up with is that the top strap of the mask( Mirage Quattro) became unhooked. For some ungodly reasone, we know why, the bottom line they took the snaps off and instead put a hook only an idiote would thinke would work. Probably someone who does not have Apneas decided to implement. Has this happened to any one else? Tonight will be my second night, I hope it will go better, cross your fingers. Other than that I expect this machine to be glory sent. I will keep you guts posted

THANKS,

It took me a couple of nights to get used to the ASV - alarms going off was my initial problem

Glad you have it & good luck with using it

Hmmm..... Those hooks are pretty good at captivating the straps. I would venture to guess you did not have the strap through the hooks quite right. (In the outside chance this mask is new to you, the ring of the strap should pass around both 'arms' of the hook, and be completely captivated inside the large area inside the hooks. This normally prevents any inadvertent coming-off as it takes a deliberate, multiple action to get the strap out of the hooks.) In any case, I bet you do better tonight. As DSM says, it sounds like these machines can be quite an experience the first time you use one.

Congrats on getting the new machine, I know that's been a challenge for you! I hope it's all you wanted when you finally start getting some good sleep.
