Deltadave,

Thank you, as usual, for clearing things up and giving it to us straight. But unfortunately I think Bill and I scared So Lost off...

Yay! Not because I'm a "right fighter", but because it means I'm actually beginning to understand this stuff.

So now what does it say about the poor ignorant person, like myself, who goes to the Internet for answers and finds something like I found on that site I provided the link for? They're downright incorrect. Had I not been on a forum like this with people to clarify, I would assume (hate to but sometimes have to) that this site all about sleep disorders is correct.

I guess I now have learned not to take one site's word for anything, but to get a few different sites' information and then take the majority as correct. Gees, you learn something new every day.

Dave, I was curious as to what you thought about treating this poor, scared-off So Lost or not. Do you think they are looking at CPAP or no?

Ouch!

The internet is arguably the greatest source of information that has ever existed. But you must remember that just because some fact is out there doesn't make it correct.

Heck, I remember reading somewhere that CPAP restored hair, caused instant, miraculous weight loss and gave men the virility and stamina of an 18 year old! Oh wait, I think it was on this forum and I said it. Must be true!

Excellent question, and back on topic.

Bill,

LOL! You are so funny. If you read that on this site, then we know it's true. Lucky men! Wonder what this site said about women? Okay, let's not go there...plus, now we're getting WAY off topic.

And, honestly, have you noticed SO LOST has not come back? I feel horrible. I hope he/she just hasn't had a chance to log on yet and is not disgusted over the whole thread by now. Talk about "Ouch"?

Hi Lori!
Dave, I was curious as to what you thought about treating this poor, scared-off So Lost or not. Do you think they are looking at CPAP or no?
Well, actually, I was trying to avoid that question, because, I think, err..., well...
WAFlowers got that one right too.
If the RDI was really an RDI, then that means all those other arousals are not RERAs and therefore this isn't UARS, which CPAP might have been effective for. But if they might still be from a subtle respiratory origin (flow limitations, snore arousals, etc.) and that RDI was really an AHI, then those arousals could have been UARS related, and CPAP has a shot.
So you either do the CPAP and see if they get better, or look through the record and history for another cause for the arousals (like medication, a usual culprit, PLMS, CFS, FBM, too much caffeine, stuff like that).
It's tough to guess at these things cause there's always so much information that is not available, so sometimes you really gotta dig. Always helps to have the long report.

Delatadave,

I don't care how unsure you answer was in that last post. It was an honest and I'm sure accurate answer.

Deltadave, you're my hero (LOL). Anyone who can figure out sleep studies like you has superhero powers in my book...I guess I'm just not the scientific type (never my best subject in school). Now give me some grammatical question or perhaps anything to do with elementary Spanish levels 1-4, I can answer that for you - probably .
