Hi, I'm new to these forums, and I'm glad I found them... when I first started with the CPAP in mid July, I thought I'd get better magically overnight. I now know that just not the case, and that I'm not the only one with problems only 3.5 months into treatment.
After reading the article on "What is Feeling Good", I feel reassured that what I'm feeling right now isn't the way I'll feel for the rest of my life. I still watch people around me and on TV with so much more energy than I do and wonder where they get it.
Anyway, I'm in that "Basic Treatment" stage, where most days I feel "OK" (but certainly not the way I felt even a year ago), and I'm looking to figure out what the next steps are to progress to the next level.
I'm wondering if the community can provide me suggestions on what they did that made a big difference on the road to improvement. I'm about to order the software and download packages so I can start analyzing my sleep against trying different settings on my CPAP (I have an S8 AutoSet II).
I've already found that the EPR gives me some trouble and shutting it off seems to avoid more throat "locking up". I've also noticed that I have problems still with my lower jaw sliding back when I sleep and thus breaking the seal on the full mask (I use the mirage liberty - small).

Hi Jeremy,
I'm too new to it to offer any advice myself. But it will be easier for others to help you if you fill out your profile and list your equipment. I know you mentioned some of it in your post, such as machine and mask. But it is easier to look at the bottom then to keep looking through a post for that when trying to find solutions. I am referring specifically to your machine, mask, pressure settings, ramp and EPR if used, and humidifier.
Have you had any days where you woke up feeling better than others ? I know some days I just get out of bed feeling more awake than normal and just know the data will agree, and it usually does. If you are doing something different those nights, you can try to duplicate it. It is much easier with the software and data. Sometimes you won't know you had a good night, (or bad) until you see the numbers. Hopefully we reach a point where most nights feel better and the data supports it. Best of luck to you ! The people on here can solve anything !
