Looking for a good pillow

Post by ciounoi » Thu Dec 03, 2009 11:12 am

I am looking for a good pillow to help me be comfortable with my bipap. I currently have two standard pillows, one on top of the other, which I sleep on. I am finding that I am often unable to sleep because of a crick in my neck - the pillows seem to be too high. However, just one pillow is too low. I'm looking for something that would be good for the bipap.

Three considerations:

1) I sleep on my left side when I go to sleep. I CAN make this work with the bipap, but I often feel like I am straining my neck and/or my straps are too tight and are pulling on my neck.
2) I am usually very uncomfortable with various neck rests (i.e., the neck rest where they wash your hair at the hair stylist, car head rests, etc). I think this is because I have a short neck. Which leads me to my last consideration...
3) I am the size of a 12 year old. Literally. And my proportions reflect this (i.e., short arms and legs, can wear kids clothing). If a pillow was designed for a 5'6 beauty with the neck of a swan, it's probably not for me!

Thanks for your input.

We have been discussing the PurSleep Regenesis Pillow on another thread (my review of the product). I absolutely love it.

Prior to xPAP therapy, I also had purchased a MedSlant wedge pillow for reflux (which is now nearly non-existent... thanks PAP!) that also help keep your whole upper body elevated. Stacking pillows can push your chin into your chest causing pain and collapsing the airway.
Sleep well and live better!

Thanks for the info!

I have been looking into various pillows... what about a buckwheat hull pillow?

This is the Regenesis Buckwheat Hull Pillow
I have it and love it. Same one Tatoo is referring to.

I also have the Regenisis Pillow...However...you said a single pillow is too low for you. The Regenisis pillow is a low pillow even when completely filled with the buckwheat hulls. The pillow can be contoured to your shape.
