First Night with CPAP

Post by woodg » Tue Nov 24, 2009 6:55 am

Made it through the first night OK. It took me a little longer to get to sleep than it did during my titration study. I woke up 2 or 3 times during the night with mask leaks and it was like a tornado in my face. I had to play with it a bit to get it to re-seal, and I found that the easiest way was to simply lift it up off of my nose and let it fall back into place.

I also did a little more of my usual tossing and turning than I did in my titration study and I think one of these times, I may have pulled the hose a little bit, resulting in a leak.

This morning I had a tiny bit of a headache, which isn't unusual for me from time to time. I'm thinking that since I generally feel pretty good, it may be that I need to experiment with the humidity setting a bit. The tech at the DME suggested that I start at 1 so that's what I did. I may have to bump it up a bit so we'll see.

Generally I think I'm tolerating this pretty well. If this is as bad as it gets, I think this is going to be a breeze.

Congrats WoodG
Simply lifting the mask up is exactly how I readjust my mask when I get a leak. If you only woke up two or three times the first night you did pretty good, keep it up.
Can you go into your profile and list your equipment list style not pictures? That way your equipment is listed on all your posts so you don't have to list it if you have a problem.

Good luck

Gerry

Thanks Gerry. I thought I had updated my machine info yesterday when I got home, but it must not have stuck. I think I've got it fixed now.
