I have an old Mobilaire V oxygen concentrator with 23,447 hours on it. This morning at about 3am it quit giving out the
error beep saying service is required. I know the filters are good I checked the internal inlet filter 2 weeks ago and it is
still clean. Is there anything else I can check, should I try to get it fixed or just buy a replacement unit. I bought this used
so asking my DME for help is not an option I am kind of leaning toward geting that cheap Everflow concentrator it's about
$600 online. Any subjestions?
Oxygen Concentrator service or replace
Re: Oxygen Concentrator service or replace
Do you have insurance? Do you have a monthly copay for DME/02 equipment? If you have insurance is a concentrator a permanent rental or a rent to own? If it is rent to own, how long is the rental period and what is your copay?
Compare that to your online out of pocket purchase costs. So what if you didn't buy this concentrator from your DME? It should STILL be their responsibility to service it if service is needed, altho you may have to pay out of pocket for the repairs. Get an estimate on the repairs.
My DeVillbiss 5L has 20055 hours on it and the counter has quit but it is still running good.

I just picked up a Mobilaire V refurbished unit; you would not happen to have a manual or manuals for this thing would you? Thanks.

Fall colours. One of God's gifts. Life is fragile and short, savour every moment no matter what your problems may be. These stunning fall colours from my first outing after surviving a month on life support due to H1N1.

I would think a new one would be smarter. If you have the old one fixed, the cost would be high, the warrenty would be short.
With a new unit, the warrenty will be longer, and maybe even cut the energy costs if you buy the correct unit. That alone could repay the cost of the unit, also the newer one may be quieter too. Win! Win.... Jim
