Maybe those of us that contemplate surgery should make arrangements to call someone who posts here or have them called (emailed?) with progress reports. I too am interested in how BB is faring now.

Double ditto.
Typing might not be so easy for BleepingBeauty after tendinitis surgery. So, BB if you're reading already and not yet up to typing... we wish you a speedy recovery. Looking forward to having you back soon.

Hey Triplet
We had a great time on our Florida vacation that soon after we came home, we went to the Northwest to see some friends. We just got back, I haven't been on Cpaptalk and didn't know 'bout your surgery till I got on last night and found this site. Sorry that you had to have an operation.
Hope you heal rapidly.

Re: OT BB's surgery
Hi, all, and thanks for your concern. Sorry for any confusion, as I only mentioned the procedure in chat recently.
I had arthroscopic right shoulder surgery yesterday to repair a frayed bicep tendon and a bone spur. Not sure yet what else was discovered, if anything, and will find out more tomorrow when I go back to the surgeon's office for my post-op visit. I had general anesthesia, so I brought la machine with me and made sure all concerned were aware of it, but it wasn't used for whatever reason.
I'm doing ok now; early last night was somewhat unpleasant, with nausea and vomiting (presumably from the morphine I was given in recovery). My arm is very sore, of course, and I'm in a sling full-time (even to sleep), but I have good pain meds.
I'm typing (and doing everything else) one-handed, which is a challenge, but I'm managing pretty well. I prepared foods ahead of time and froze everything in single portions, cut into bite-sized pieces, and then I rearranged some furniture so that everything is now on my left. I'm able to don my mask without difficulty, thankfully, and I slept relatively well last night for about five hours, with one interruption for a pain pill.
A good friend took me to/from the hospital and stayed with me last night. And my neighbor is checking in with me in case I need anything. So I'm in relatively good shape so far.
Thanks again, and apologies for making any of you worry. Next time (and there will be one, as I have the same problem in my left shoulder), I'll have a friend post an update sooner than I was able to today.

Re: OT BB's surgery
BB,
So glad to hear that you came through okay. I feel for you, as I had similar surgery on my right shoulder last year. The same thing happened to me and my CPAP. They told me to bring it and then didn't use it. My AHI went way up while I was on meds.
I'm still stretching my shoulder regularly to keep it from freezing up. We have had clients who didn't do their stretches and can hardly move their arms. So keep it moving!

Re: OT BB's surgery
Hey BB.
Does this mean you don't want house guests? Only kidding. Your surgery sounds like a mean one & very painful. Did the Doc give you an idea of the cause? Your meal plan sounds like a great idea for anyone who cannot use both arms for a while.
I hope you will have a complete & speedy recovery. The entire forum misses you.
Best of everything . . . Jan
