PurSleep and the Remstar "Tank"

Post by Babette » Thu Nov 05, 2009 12:06 pm

Okay, I know this will cause screaming. But there might be some good info comes out of the conversation, as well.

I've switched over to using the Remstar "tank" primarily. I've retired my M Series Auto to travelling use, and the occasional auto-titration, as needed.

I have discovered that the Tank doesn't suck up the PurSleep smell as well as the M Series. First, I took off the plastic air filter cover, and pitched it. Then I tried jerry rigging the pad placement by moving it closer to the air filter. I clipped it upright into a metal "bulldog" clip, put a few drops on it, and then set the bulldog upright so the pad is as close to the air intake as I can get it. Still next to no smell.

Well, the other night I got brave. I got out an inline bacterial filter, and put a single drop of scent oil on the pad, on the side next to the humidifer. I plugged that into the humidifier chamber, and the main hose to the other end. VERY STRONG SCENT initially. I get used to it quickly.

I'm sure there are those who will scream that I'm aspirating essential oil. What I'm more interested in finding out is if someone else has found a jerry-rig that works better with these tank machines.

Didjya?

Thanks!
Barbara

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

I use the original pur-sleep system. This system hooks to the top of the tank HH and then you hook the hose up to the diffuser. Been using it since it first came out with no problems. Gotta watch how much of the oil you use...a little goes a long way! You might want to contact Bret and see if he has any left.
