newbie frustration.
im sleeping WORSE since i started this.
i have a swift lt mask, and i can't figure out how to get it exactly right. it's either too tight and pushing up on my nose or too loose and i wake up in the middle of the night to have to adjust it. It seems like adjusting it with the machine running is near to impossible. do most of you turn the machine off to adjust that kind of mask?
last night i thought i had it perfect, but kept hearing high pitched, very faint squeals coming from it, so i know air was escaping somewhere. But then reading that other person's post.. was it from the condensation inside the mask? I don't know. i just know it's annoying, its waking me up, and booo
I think a lot of my frustration will be resolved when i get my heated hose.. this water is a PAIN.. i wake up a good 2 hours earlier than i previously did and end up just taking the mask off and going back to sleep without it because there's so much water in the hose and mask.
so i was thinking.. just don't get frustrated, and just don't use the thing until you get the heated hose. you've gone 35 years without the cpap machine, another week won't matter...but... compliance. if i wait until I have the hose (and i hope im not wrong in that im praying this hose solves all my rainout problems) will my Ins. co pitch a fit and not pay because i didn't use it for X amount of nights.
i tried wrapping most of the hose last night, (in socks and a sweatshirt lol) but it didn't work.
i might go buy some flannel blankets or sheets and make a multi-layer hose cover. because i just checked the site where i ordered the heated hose from... and they haven't shipped it yet.
sigh. just.. the first night went so well the first few days i felt so good, but didn't get too hopeful because maybe it was just all in my head and since i WANTED to feel better i did. it's been pretty rough since then.
i guess it was all in my head.
heated hose.. get here soon
mostly just whining.

Put your humidifier on minimum till the heated hose arrives.I think a lot of my frustration will be resolved when i get my heated hose.. this water is a PAIN.. i wake up a good 2 hours earlier than i previously did and end up just taking the mask off and going back to sleep without it because there's so much water in the hose and mask.
Didn't work for me either.i tried wrapping most of the hose last night, (in socks and a sweatshirt lol) but it didn't work.
I need hose covers and a heated hose, and I'm not the only one. So that may be well worth your while in any case. Covering the mask tube is especially important -- condensation can be a result of the humid warm air hitting the colder surface of this thin tube.i might go buy some flannel blankets or sheets and make a multi-layer hose cover. because i just checked the site where i ordered the heated hose from... and they haven't shipped it yet.

Re: mostly just whining.
Also try to put mahine lower than your bed so water drains back down to chamber.

I'm a 2 week newbie, so know your frustration.
Please don't take this the wrong way, but it's important to keep a problem-solving attitude. Go to the User Control Panel, and post your equipment, so people can offer suggestions for your specific equipment.
Use the Search function, and put in Swift Lite mask, and read the Tags for rain out. You will find lots of helpful suggestions there.
Don't give up, it will get easier.

Re: mostly just whining.
Last night i solved the problem by not hooking the hose up to the hook above my bed, I just let it hang over the side of the bed, so whatever water there was, didn't flow towards me... and i covered the hose up with my blanket
I slept until 10am so i think it worked LOL
I prefer the hose being hooked up so it's hanging above me, but until i get my heated hose, this seemed to work to at least keep the water away from my face.
