pressure sore

Does anyone have any suggestions for relieving pressure sores on the bridge of your nose. I have a Mirage Quatro full face mask. I really like the mask, but often wake up with a sore red spot on my nose that takes several hours to go away

Have you tried making your straps looser? You might check to see if this is a skin allergy. You can put a bit of fabric or moleskin on the bridge of your nose to protect it.

I had the same problem with the Comfortgel mask. The sore became blister-like and I was afraid I would end up with a scar. It also became painful. Loosening the straps didn't make a diference for me. I started putting a bandaid across the bridge of my nose before I put the mask on and that helped a lot. But, eventually I tried nasal pillows (Swift II) and prefer that to the mask. I find the nasal pillows much more comfortable and don't have problems with the seal like I did with the mask. They also don't give you the "claustrophobic" feeling having a mask on your face can sometimes give you. I can't imagine ever going back to a mask of any kind. Try the nasal pillows. You may also find them more comfortable.

At the suggestion of someone on this board, I tried Bandaid's Friction Blocker Stick. It looks like a little stick deoderant that I applied where the red spot was before putting on my mask. It helped. I found mine at the second Walgreens I looked in, located in the adhesive bandage section. It's only about 1.5" x 2" tall.

I too have had great success with the friction block stick. Others say that mole skin (foot product) has helped them

Thanks for the advice. I will try to find the BandAid Friction Blocker Stick. I have readjusted my straps and am afraid if they are any looser, they won't hold the mask on. Used to use the Swift nasal pillows, but am a mouth breather so that didn't really work for me. I have tried moleskin, it lessens the redness, but its still there.
