I have a Quattro mask on a ResMed VPAP -Adapt-SV. There are two slots in the "elbow." Air should be coming out through them as well as through the vents at the top, right? If it is supposed to come out, but isn't, what's wrong? The once every 15 second burst of air that I get for the OSA appears to be working, but there is something askew with the part that is delivering the central apnea treatment. Thanks.
You can see pictures of the elbow on pages 3 and 4 in this document: http://www.resmed.com/us/assets/documen ... er_eng.pdf

Re: Problems with BiPAP & Quattro mask a
I use a quatto on an APAP with fixed pressure so anything related to your machine I can't answer.
The vents in the elbow are part of the anti-asphyxiation set up (I hope that picked the right word - it is late - so you don't suffocate). They are open when the machine is not running and they are to close with a small flap closing them when the machine is running (at least that is how it works on my machine). Should you lose electricity or the cat step on the power button and turn the machine off accidentally, the flap will then open and all air to pass through the vents so you don't die.
I hope this helps.
