Knot on head

Post by Kaylore » Tue Oct 27, 2009 9:24 pm

Last week I changed to a fresh mask. End of last week I had a sore knot pop up on my forehead, right where 1 of the gel pads on my mask sit. I've had that happen before with new masks (but not in a long time). I guess it irritates it or something. I can put something between it & my head, a cotton square, foam tape on the gel pad or something & it's always went away in a few days. But it's still there & today I noticed it's red & looks like 2 tiny spots in the center of it...It's never done that. It has me really worried. Have any of you ever had this problem?

I had that happen on the side of my nose/cheek, and it was a pressure sore that got infected and full of crud. If your redness is from inflammation, not the temporary morning redness, it really would be best to use another mask and let it heal. That's too near the frontal sinuses to want to add pressure all night to an area possibly full of infection.

Thanks for the advice. I switched my mask last night. Then today I had my dr. check it while on a routine visit. He said it was an infected pore he thought & gave me antibiotics.
