Downloading your information

Post by PSGMAN » Mon Oct 26, 2009 4:03 am

I have read over and over how people want devices to download their CPAP information but are having problems getting the equipment. I understand most people here don't know me, but I would like to offer something to the newbies, or people who are having problems with CPAP and feel they need this information. I have the needed equipment to download the information off of the Respironics Auto Cflex and the ResMed Auto EPR.

Since I only have 2 available I was trying to think of away to help as many people as possible. Here is my plan.

1. If you have either device I would be willing to send you the equipment for a 1 month period. If there isn't anyone waiting to use the device you can ask to keep it longer.

2. Since I am not well known here, I thought that some people maybe a little freaked about giving their address online, which I get. If there are any members here that are trusted by the majority of the users here, I would be happy to send them these devices and allow them to oversee who gets the equipment and for how long.

If anyone is interested in helping me helping others get this information, or if you are one who would like to get this information let me know. I don't get on here everyday so please be patient if I don't respond today. Monday is my day off, so I won't be checking online tonight. I will be back on Tuesday night to see if anyone is interested.

I also have a couple of masks available. These masks have been used less than 4 hours. None of the cushions that will come with the mask have been used, since I am going to include a new cushion still in the package. I have a Respironics Fusion available, and a ResMed Micro. These masks are in great condition, as I said they were barely used. I am not asking for any type of payment either. Thanks.

Hi PSGMAN

Your post indicates that some private way of communicating will be needed for some who might want to respond. For that to happen you will need to register as a Forum member, and that will give you a Private Message facility.

Your method sounds a though it would be difficult to get started, and complicated to operate.

Selling them on CPAPAuction for a low price, or giving them to a couple of people who can use them but do not have the money to purchase new, could be a possibility.

As far as I can tell, the only difficulty in getting the download stuff is the cost, so you may be able to help out with someone there. People really need their own downloading stuff, so they can keep on checking what their numbers are.

cheers

Mars

Is it the software disk and reader you are offering to share for the ResMed Auto? Are you hoping to collect data?

And what's interesting is that no method of insurance is given in terms of how one will get back their machines, or in what condition.

Folks, I believe that PSGMAN (LinkC says he is the man of many aliases) is offering to loan out one Respironics and one RESMED card reader+smartcard pairs. Nothing more, nothing less. His posting is so vague and opaque, however, that it brings back memories (painful) of some of the Social Science textbooks that I was required to read in college! The authors took pages and pages to confuse me and tell me absolutely nothing of value. Later, I realized that the authors must have been paid by the #words. I think PSGMAN gets paid the same way.

It appears, if my above SWAG is correct, that PSGMAN wants you to record your sleep data on the smart card and then return the loaner smartcard reader+smartcard in a month or so. His month-long loaner period doesn't make much sense to me since a data capable Respironics machine will start to overwrite earlier sleep sessions on the SmartCard after a week, plus or minus a few days, depending on the # of events that are being recorded.

To summarize, PSGMAN gets some user data. I'm not quite sure what the user gets.

Now if the Respironics user has EP and/or EV but not a smartcard reader and smartcard, then the user would receive some benefit as he/she could review their EV/EP reports for a month before returning the loaners, plus determine if it was worthwhile to purchase their own smartcard reader and smartcard(s).

Perhaps another alternative for the user would be to buy their own smartcard, take the loaners but use their smartcard for the month, keeping theirs before returning the loaners. Then, if the user gets their own smartcard reader and software, they will have some old data that they can analyze and reminisce over.

Anyway, that's my take on what has been offered by PSGMan.

PSGMan, correct me if I got it all wrong. Thanks.

If you are really interested, search on: Troll, Mrs. Tatis, Polysomnoman, Polysomno-man and Mimi. Although many of his/her posts have since been flushed.

Like you, I don't know what this latest scam involves, but *I* would advise steering clear.

Do you guys even read what I write before you spew garbage out your mouth? Link and rooster, all I was doing was trying to give someone a chance to use my software and card to see how they were doing. I even said I would send it to someone who everyone on this site could trust. There were no strings attached. I just have seen multiple posts of people who want these things and I have two of them that I don't and haven't ever used. I thought by letting someone use it for a month they could fine tune their pressures then send it back so someone else could do the same. If someone wanted to reuse it, whatever. I have no desire to have anyone's information. I could care less if I ever got them back. I thought they would be more beneficial in the hands of a PAP user than in my desk at home. If you don't want or need them, thats awesome. But maybe someone else does, and you are just bad mouthing me because you don't like a couple posts I put up like what, 8 months ago? Get over it.

Just to clarify, if anyone wants the ability to download their information, I have all needed equipment. PM me and I will send you the equipment. I have no interest in anything other than to get someone to get some use out of this equipment.

I have two, one for a ResMed Auto CPAP and one for Respironics Auto Cflex. If nobody replies, or people want to accuse me of wrong doing, I will not bother anyone with future freebies of any nature.

So what exactly do you have? In the first post you say "equipment". In a followup post you say "card and software". You don't mention a card reader which is a necessity.

Your history here (Troll, Mrs. Tatis, Polysomnoman, Polysomno-man and Mimi and inflammatory posting) plus your failure to be specific about the "equipment" you are offering still leaves me skeptical.

Surely you know that internet forums allow an anonymity which sometimes leads to lies and scams. Or do you?

Sure we read what you wrote. We've just learned from experience not to believe much of it. As an example, you said you were "not well known" here. Yet you actually have a long and not-very-pleasant legacy here, as evidenced by the posts I referenced. We were both merely cautioning readers against believing everything you say, given your track record.

So what "garbage" did either of us spew? Do you deny you have a history here? Under several usernames? That's all *I* said. And the yardbird merely recommended people exercise caution before getting involved. Do you think that advice is "garbage"?

Gee, you FINALLY registered so you could be reached by PM. I'm impressed...

*IF* this is a legitimate offer, then good on you.

I'll believe it when I see it. (And don't take the name of Christmas in vain... )

What equipment and software are you SPECIFICALLY offering to users as "loaners" for a month?

Here is a list of what I surmise you may be offering:
1) A SmartCard
2) A card reader that attaches to a user's PC
3) Software that reads the Smartcard data and generates sleep therapy charts on a user's PC

Did I miss anything that you are offering? If so, please include it.

Please answer this question. Thanks.

That's great you want to help someone(s) obtain software. If your offer get's lost in this thread, why don't you rename it" Free Software" and it'll be in the hands of someone who needs it quickly........Personally, I think it would benefit someone who can keep more than for having it one month and lose it. I see your point in taking a month, evaluating your treatment, make changes and send it on to someone else to do the same. But, really I think it takes a little longer and once really following data, may be a downer to have to stop!!!! Perhaps offering to the 2 people with a promise to pass it on if interest in data collection or compliance is lost........just my 2cents!!!!
