Blue Lights

Post by Scarlet834 » Sun Oct 25, 2009 2:41 pm

I've been laying an eye mask loosely across the 3 blue lights on my REMStar Pro (that light up the whole bedroom). The other day I used a very small roll pillow when the mask was not in reach and thought the top of the machine was a little warm in the morning, though not hot. Is it possible to overheat and break the machine in the attempt to smother the offending blue lights?

I do the same thing, but with a dark burgundy-colored washcloth. It certainly does get warm, but it doesn't seem to hurt anything.

I put a strip of black plastic electrical tape (3M 33+) over the lights.

You obvisiouly have the "M" Series Pro not the Remstar Pro2 like your profile says. If you had the Remstar Pro2 it allows you to turn the lights completely off. But then it does not have 3 large blue lights. The ability to turn the lights off is something they left out on the "M" series. An argile sock does wonders for the blue lights!!

have had my M-series Auto for almost a year and have not noticed the lightsw even once - well, except when looking for them to turn the machine off. I guess now that I am sleeping well, once I put the mask on I can usually sleep withs lights on, off, blinking - ok that was an exageration.....

but seriously, with the machine about 8" below the bed and as close to the wall as possible - i don't notice them at all

My equipment is all fixed, thank you! You know what happened, I went straight to the "r"s and selected the only REMStar Pro entry with CFlex. It never occurred to me to look under "m" and find M Series. Sorry about that! Well, I guess I can't turn my blue buttons off, but it's nice to know they had a change of heart and built that function in later.

No, No, You did not understand. The Remstar Pro 2 that allows you to turn off the lights is the older machine. They took the ability to turn off the lights away because we were not good appreciative cpappers!!!!

Oh, but they gave an ON/OFF beep instead - can't have a Repironics machine just doing its job without sight or sound announcements....

The light I have issue with is the light that bleeds through into the humidity chamber from the lighted dial. Seriously thinking about slapping a little black electrical tape on the hole of the lid...

You all just need more ambient light to drown out the light from the CPAP machine. Between the streetlight that's right outside my bedroom window lighting up the apartment's parking lot and the 4" tall number LCD alarm clock that's right next to my head because I'm too blind to be able to see it without glasses otherwise, 3 little wimpy blue lights are nothing

Oh, no! Well, at least I have my trusty little eye mask to cover them.
And thank you, MattHock, but I think I will not add ambient light to my room.
