I tell ya....

I come back from time to time between other pursuits and merriment, only to find such drama and excitement!

You can never say this discussion board is boring, nosiree!

My vote is to allow visitors. Those who remember me know that I've always felt that way. Sure it means there's potential for things like this to happen. But I think on balance, the benefits of allowing guests out weigh any of the difficulties you're likely to encounter here.

What benefits, you ask? Well, if you look at the first page where it lists who is on line, the number of visitors far exceed the members much of the time. This means a lot of people out there are mighty interested in learning more about sleep apnea. Many boards restrict visitors from posting, while they allow them to view. But I prefer visitors be allowed to post. Most of the many visitors to cpaptalk may not post, but if even a few decide to post, ask questions and get good responses and help, then it's more than worth a squabble or two.

Also, there's something to be said for anonymity, even for those who are members but might wish to comment. We are often judged and maybe pigeon-holed for having certain opinions. I welcome the freedom to express yourself if it helps you. Things can get ugly, sure, but as I notice Wader saying in that topic you link to, people seem to survive these seemingly explosive topics. That's the beauty of topics. You can let it go and move on.

.....My two cents worth.. (with inflation, it's more)

Linda

Go ahead and push back sis but push back this way if you can muster it up....the bible says overcome evil with good. Not so easy since some find joy in belittling others and tromping over them. Do something in the exact opposite spirit of the meanness that is directed to you. It doesn't always work in a way that engenders a good response from the other person, but it is something easier to live with....I ask myself at times when I've failed this way of living, "what has my taking the bait, or reacting to the other person done except perhaps to have me reflect their own anger to them when what I am after is to have them be able to give and receive love?" Hard lessons we will learn as long as we continue to draw breath if I'm any example...same broken record can play over and over (maybe with more time inbetween if we are quick learners! LOL) Next time you see me taking the bait, sis, say..."hold on a minute T...what is God after in this exchange? Think Terry, "What am I sposed to learn?" Love, your hosehead sis, Terry

I hate it when I'm stupid. I don't see where to register? I've looked and looked, then thought, oh, well, I'll just sign everything and people will get used to me.

Nevermind. Apparently I'm not PERMANENTLY stupid, it is a condition that comes and goes, thank goodness. I believe I am now a registered user of this forum.

the last message with beautiful colorful little men gave me lots of pleasure

it is a lot easier for members just to ignore all the postings written by so called guests

Well, guests like you, there is no need to do that . But in hindsight, you're absolutely right. That will be my plan of action in the future. Thanks.
