Does the software work with Vista 32 bit. I keep reading different accounts whether it does or doesn't.

With respect to the Contecs, they are definitely sensitive to finger size and where placed on the finger.twokatmew wrote:I have an SPO7500, and even though I didn't want to spend that much, I tried three Contec pulse oximeters and couldn't get one to maintain a decent signal. The SPO7500 works well, and the software is very detailed though not difficult to use. I got it from Turner Medical and had no problems. Turner also offers a 10-day satisfaction guarantee, so if you don't like the SPO7500, you can return it for the cost of shipping.
Well worth it, IMO.
I've only ever used the CMS-60C (the external probe model), but I wouldn't be surprised if it and the wrist model dislodge slightly less than the all-in-one unit that sits completely on a finger.
The infant probe for the 60C definitely works better for smaller fingers than the adult probe, so that may be a good unit for folks with small(er) fingers looking for a less expensive recording pulse-ox.

I tried the CMS-50F (wrist model), but it wouldn't maintain a signal. I then tried the CMS-60C with the infant wrap sensor. This one was worse. I know many have had luck with the Contecs, but I certainly did not. It's strange, because I've used many different pulse oximeters and never had a problem till I tried the Contecs. I took both Contecs with me to pulmonary rehab, and the RTs there were very unimpressed with the units. On the contrary, they were quite impressed with the SPO7500.briank wrote:With respect to the Contecs, they are definitely sensitive to finger size and where placed on the finger.twokatmew wrote:I have an SPO7500, and even though I didn't want to spend that much, I tried three Contec pulse oximeters and couldn't get one to maintain a decent signal. Got mine, seems to work well with Vista. Not real computer literate, do not know if I have 32 or 64 bit.

Re: SPO 7500 pulse oximeter for $350
I have been on the fence about getting one of these as insurance won't cover any of it. Decided to go ahead and pick one up at the sale price, best price I've found anywhere.
Interesting, if you go to the main website and then click on the SPO 7500 is shows the $409 price, but the link in the OP still shows the $350 price, and that is what I was charged at the checkout. Must be some special discount.
Will post again once it arrives and I have a chance to use it.
