I'm just finishing up my first week with my Resmed S8 Autoset II (in CPAP mode - 10 pressure) and Swift LT pillows. I don't have the software or card reader yet, but I just figured out how to see results on the machine's LCD screen. Here's what I got this morning:
DAY - Leak: 0.00; AHI: 1.6; AI: 0.1; HI: 1.5
WEEK - Leak: 0.00; AHI: 2.0; AI: 0.0; HI: 2.0
The problem is that I don't know what these results mean or what ranges are considered good and bad.
Also, since I'm using the Autoset II in CPAP mode only, I was wondering if there is any other important data that the software + card reader would give me (or is it more useful for APAP)?

Those are excellent first week results, Bcab. Basically, you have no leaks that have been measurable. Your AHI is LOW---between 1.6 and 2 apneas per hour. Your Hypopneas are also low--between 1.5 and 2. Those numbers look rather good to me for a new hoser. Congratulations! The question is: How do you feel now?

I've actually been using a CPAP for about 10 years, but this is the first week for a new machine (that provides therapy results) and my first time trying nasal pillows.Autopapdude wrote:Those are excellent first week results, Bcab. Over the past couple of months I have been feeling more tired during the day, so I am especially interested now in seeing my therapy data. My first thought was that my tiredness was more a factor of getting fewer hours of sleep than a problem with my CPAP therapy...and this result data seems to support that.
I have fallen into a pattern of going to bed between 11:00 PM and 12:00 AM, then waking up for a trip to the bathroom around 5:00 AM. The problem is that I am having a very hard time falling back to sleep after the bathroom trip...I just can't turn off my brain. So I often end up lying in bed, trying to fall asleep until I get up at 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM. Obviously, averaging 6 hours of sleep a night isn't cutting it.
