My husband is a believer

Post by MauraAnderson » Fri Oct 16, 2009 1:00 am

I've had my cpap for about a month now and just tonight I told my husband that I'd slept the sleep of the dead last night and wondered if I'd had any mask leaks I didn't know about. He said he'd not heard anything and then said "You haven't snored since you got the machine. The slight breeze I feel sometimes is a small price to pay for the silence."

Another affirmation things are better

Which machine do you have?
Maybe the machine can show you the leak?

Maura, the full name of your machine will be written across the top of the machine. I'd also be interested in knowing what machine you have. Every word of what's written on the top is important in regard to the name... starting with the word "Respironics" and including words like "M series" at the end, if "M series" is there.

I'm assuming that Respironics is the brand machine you have since you mention a REMstar humidifier in your equipment profile.

Glad to hear you're doing better! That was a very nice thing for your husband to say...sounds like he's giving you good support.

I have a loaner (aka "will this patient comply") machine at the moment. I'll write the details down when I get home and post it. I'm waiting a bit to order the one I really want because I'm in a bit of limbo between my husband's insurance and a job I interview for in the next couple of weeks that has much better insurance.

I'm pretty sure, if I have leaks, they're not severe. Severe ones wake me up with the noise and the most common minor one I get blows air over my eyes and that wakes me up too.

I was pleased to hear about the lack of snoring.

my husband also plans to get tested as soon as the work/insurance holding pattern is resolved.
