Mirage Liberty and Chin Strap ?

Post by DannyPh » Thu Oct 15, 2009 1:48 pm

I have just recently gotten the Mirage Liberty FF Mask for congestion this winter. I am currently using the Swift II Nasal Pillows with a Chin strap. I am curious as to whether I will need to use a Chin strap with this Mask to control Mouth Breathing or is it Feasible to mouth Breathe with the Mirage Liberty and still Maintain the needed Therapy from Cpap. Thank You.

congestion or mucus can be controlled with a netti pot or other nasal or sinus irrigation methods, see google

yes mouth breathing with a FF mask is still effective, you will need a humidifier to avoid dry mouth, etc
a chinstrap wont have much effect on mouth breathing and a chinstrap is only needed if you "open wide" in sleep, breaking mask airseal
