Finding A New mask. Current one doesn't work. Need advice.

Post by ccualumni » Wed Oct 14, 2009 8:47 pm

My current maqsk is not working. I am going back to my doctor to be fitted for a new mask next week.

My mask is in my signature, but it is kind of like a scuba snorkel.

I am thinking that I may need to go to a full size mask.

I am a regular size guy, 6', 210 pounds. I have trouble getting and staying asleep.

I do take Ambien to help me sleep.

The snorkel type mask is not working.

WHat mask do you recommend or what should I loook for when I go to get fitted for a different mask? Is there a place to buy these masks at a discount price? I ask because I may have to try several kinds until i find one that I like and works.

Thanks
I am so tired of being tired.

masks are rather individual - what works for one person sucks for the next one -- you got to do your own trial and error -

check babette's posts to find the mask trials she is aware of and sign up for some to try more masks over time

Cpap.com has good prices on masks and there are some really good deals on cpapauction.com for some "never used" or "barely used" masks.

Cpap.com has a sizing guide and many masks have a sizing template available online if you search for it.

Have you tried the Nasal Aire II? If not, and you're interested in a free test drive of the mask, so you can try before you buy, PM me.

More info about it, and the Test Drive, is below in my signature block.

Best of luck!
Barbara

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)
