I'm a new user and I am currently getting involved with my own therapy. I do not have any software for my machine, but I do know how to read the results off the medical menu. I'm on bpap therapy and my settings are 19/12. I've noticed that when I breathe in when my breath reaches a certain leval the machine stops the pressure. Is this normal? It leaves me with a feeling of not being able to take a deep breath. Is there any way to change this setting? Also, there are some readings on the results portion of the menu that I don't know what they are. Maybe someone could enlighten me.
VT last night this reading was 540-920
MV last night it was 8.1-13
%spont. T:100% what is this?
%spont. C: 96% and this?
Thanks for any help you can give.
Ed.
Any one know why?
Re: Any one know why?
Hi,
My M-Series Auto BiPAP does that, too. I found that I had to adjust to the machine because there doesn't seem to be a way to change it. Rested Gal explained it to me a few days ago...once my machine goes to the higher inhale pressure, it will drop down to the exhale pressure after 3 seconds even if I am still inhaling. You can continue to inhale if you want, it just feels kind of funny after it drops to the lower pressure. This would bug me when I was falling asleep, but I find that I have gotten used to breathing at a more steady pace so I rarely run into it any more.
