Got a loaner Quattro

Post by Cygnusia » Tue Oct 13, 2009 11:24 am

Well, as I failed with the FullLife, I am trying out it's "direct competitor" the Quattro. I was surprised to find that I measure for a medium on this mask... every other one I had to use small sizes!

I was also fitted with an Ultra Mirage and the Mirage Liberty. The Ultra felt like the plastic was actually in contact with my face instead of the cushion, and the Liberty put WAY too much pressure on my mouth... I can barely tolerate the Activa sitting between my nose and lip... I wouldn't sleep at all with that one!

Even though we had the mask a bit snug, I liked the way it felt. Of course, we'll see tonight when I have to wear it for 6+ hours!

EDIT: I almost forgot... the doc I saw today during my followup was the same one that actually handled my titration results, and he's also a PAP'er! He knew exactly where I was coming from with my mask issues... it's nice when your doctor has been where you are now and is very sympathic to what you're going through...

I'm beginning to understand why so many people seem to like the Quattro. I had to clamp it down pretty tightly to keep it from leaking, but I was still pretty comfortable. It was decently quiet and the bridge of my nose doesn't feel bruised. It took some fiddling around with when I settled in for the night, but once I got it in place it was pretty stable.
