First Night S8 Autoset II

Post by Liddelbrook » Mon Oct 05, 2009 6:57 pm

Unfortunately I cannot read my S8 data yet.

But here a small comparison of SpO2 reports

date: 10/01/09 - 148 Total SpO2 Events - Time 59.4 - 1hr Index 18.4 - Time < 88% 9.3 - Events < 88% 44
date: 10/03/09 - 80 Total SpO2 Events - Time 38.4 - 1hr Index 10.6 - Time < 88% 11.9 - Events < 88% 37
date: 10/05/09 - 27 Total SpO2 Events - Time 12.4 - 1hr Index 3.2 - Time < 88% 1.3 - Events < 88% 6

Last one is the first night with the S8 Autoset II

So there is some advantage, but things are not gone. What can I do, increase minimum pressure, now set at 7.2?

Oh, and when I recall efficacy data it says:

Pressure 16, Leak 0.08, AHI 17.3, AI 8.3, HI 9.0.

Your desats are impressively improved..................Very impressive.........what do you have your AutoSet II pressure set at. Oops just noticed 16....how did you decide 16...just curious...are you using Auto or straight CPAP? Your AHI/HI is still high. You might want to tweak your pressure to see if you can lower your AHI/HI and see if you knock out a few more desats and or increase your 02 sat overall......... It'll be interesting how you feel with some time. Also, what did you think about sleeping with the mask, comfortable.........again so far very impressive change for first night.

The thing is set on Auto, starting at 7.2. Will next night start at 9.0

I tried the Mirage Quattro Full Face mask, and it seems fine until now. Woke up one time I think.

Did use 4 mg lorazepam.

Would like to know how to decrease the desats...

Immensely sad you cannot reach perfection fastly by immediately sleeping again

Were you taking Lorazapam before machine when you have lots of desats? Looks like you already have decreased the desats very much, be interesting to see if your pressure 9 will further decrease them. Perfection.....a relative term....restorative sleep certainly impacts life experiences.

Since your Apnea Index (AI) was 8.3, I think your plan to raise the minimum pressure to 9.0 now is very smart.
